Transporting passengers from the parking lot While restructure of the mobility ramp is taking place, a small bus will be utilized to transport passengers between the parking lot and train platform.
DART will provide updated information on the estimated time frame of each phase of work as it becomes available.

The project – lasting from February 2015 to September 2016 – coincides with the Blue Line’s southward extension to the UNT Dallas campus. It will result in a much safer, user-friendly and modern facility.
Long-term BenefitsAmong the new features will be:
• enhanced lighting overall• replacement of wall near mobility
ramp with railing to increase visibility
• upgrade traffic signal at Shellhorse Drive
• lengthening and raising of platforms to allow level boarding on 3-car trains
• improvement of visibility between the platforms and parking lot
• add passenger load and unload zone to east of the station
Short-term InconvenienceDuring construction, DART will make every effort to maintain accessibility for customers.
Bus/train connections On certain occasions, trains may be delayed by limited access to the station; when these occur, DART will take the necessary steps to assist with
bus to train connections. Passengers are encouraged to allow extra time and take an earlier bus trip.
Where to go As work proceeds, customers may be directed in different directions to reach their destinations; watch for clearly-marked signage, but again, allow extra time whenever possible.
Using a “bus bridge” On occasions when train activity is suspended, passengers may be asked to use a bus to start and/or complete their journey. During platform reconstruction, selected trips may end at VA Medical Center or Kiest stations, and passengers will be asked to exit the train and board a bus to continue to Ledbetter Station. Or they may need to take a bus from Ledbetter Station to make rail connections at VA Medical Center or Kiest stations. These buses will display a SHUTTLE or LEDBETTER destination sign and load at the red bus stops located at each station. These trips will be announced in advance.
