School Administrative and Support Staff
The school community is made up of many different
people, all of whom play a part in the running of
schools and the provision of quality education for all
students.
School Administrative and Support Staff, whether they
work in the office, on the school grounds or in
classrooms are important contributors to the success of
the school and children’s education.
Next week is SASS Recognition Week and we all
recognise and appreciate the job our SASS Staff do in
our school. Thank you Kellie, Alison, Paul, Lorraine,
Lisa, Bec, Rose, Renice, Sonya, Lysi, Kimberly, Kylie.
Classes & Enrolments
Our classes and staffing each year depends on the
number of students enrolled. We currently have an
increase to 296 students. This means that we can apply
for a new teacher and demountable classroom. When
the new room is in and usable, I intend to shuffle Year
1 and Year 2 classes straight away to make smaller
classes.
We will go to having two Year 1 classes of 20 and two
Year 2 classes of 20. No other classes will be affected.

Monday, 24 August 2015 Term 3 – Week 7
Next year we expect to stay at these 12 classes. If you
know of anyone intending to either come to our school
or move away from our school now is the time to let
me know.
NAPLAN
The 2015 NAPLAN Testing results have been sent out.
Parents and carers with questions about the results
should make arrangements with the school office on
63741622 to come up to the school and speak to the
teachers or executive for any clarification needed.
The NAPLAN Test reflects the ability of a child in that
test on that day and does not reflect on the skills and
abilities of the “whole child” in a wider context, nor
the complexity of schooling as a whole.
At our school we use the NAPLAN results to inform
planning for teaching and learning in literacy and
numeracy areas, BUT it is not the “be all and end all”
of life as we know it.
