The development of Individual Learning Plans for every student ensures that we cater for each student’s individual learning. We thank all parents for their positive feedback on our new student report format. Feedback included comments such as: “It is much easier to read” “Tells us what we need to know” “A better format… that is easier to understand” “It actually told us more”. The class of 2019 We welcome everyone back to school, ready for what is a busy term, with Education Week, Book Week, Science Week and this year our Picasso Cow focus. All students have commenced their new Semester with renewed energy and focus. Hopefully, we are over the dreaded bugs and illness that was evident during the last few weeks of Term 2 and unfortunately for some, during the school holidays. KINDERGARTEN TRANSITION

Our Kindergarten Transition STAR program commenced last Wednesday with Lexie and Harry joining us for the morning. It was a lovely first morning as we spent time getting to know each other. We all enjoyed listening to a shared reading of “Hattie and the Fox”. This Wednesday we will be creating art/craft works depicting the stories main character, Hattie. Kindergarten students will be writing a description of Hattie the hen.

Following our breakfast and line dance performance we invite parents to join students for a special “Beach Safety” presentation by Alistair Lane, from Coffs Harbour.

The highlight for students will be our “Education on Show” performance at Bellingen High School on Wednesday 7th August, which will be an important opportunity for students to view live performances by students from all schools in the Bellinger Dorrigo Learning Community, as well as the chance to perform our Line Dance item in front of a very large crowd. I wish to thank all parents for their support in attending this event and helping to ensure a memorable evening for all.

Fiona has once again done a great job choreographing our dance routine and supporting students to learn and master new skills during weekly

dance lessons. A big thank you to Fiona from students and staff.

Best wishes to our students who will be performing on the night, this is a big challenge for our small school and especially for Cody who has returned to school this term and for Seth, who has only just started his learning journey at Hernani.
