~ UNITY LIVEWIRE ~ ‘A SOBER PUBLICATION’
FEBRUARY - 2020
Lorain Inter-Group Office 710 Broadway Avenue
Lorain, Ohio 44052
Phone: 440-246-1800
Monday – Friday 9AM – 5PM Email address:
Have you put money in the can to support the Inter-Group Office? Did it make it there?
What would it be like without our Inter-Group Office?
Everything that the Inter-Group has available for purchase: Big Books, pamphlets, 12X12 and books would need to be
ordered directly from AA World Services. Your hard cover Big Book would cost you $0.50 more plus shipping and your soft
cover Big Book would cost you $0.35 more plus shipping. OR you could drive into Cleveland and just pay a little extra plus
your gas.
These are the current shipping charges on these items when ordering from the AA World Service, Inc in New York City:
Purchases up to $50.00 - $10.00 Shipping / $50.01 to $250.00 – 15% Shipping / $250.01 to $500.00 – 12% Shipping / Over
$500.00 – No Charge for shipping.
The availability of these items is not the only things that would disappear from our local AA community:
~ No office managers to look up and help find information you need.
~ No 12 Step Call List, it would be harder to get to people in need.
~ No LiveWire. This means no meeting or lead announcements, no sober event or convention information.
~ No meeting books. No place to find Lorain County meetings’ day, time, location or type of meeting.
~ No Cabin Fever Steak Fry.
~ No free Friends of Bill W. Picnic.
~ No Pig Roast.
~ No Memorial Breakfast.
~ No aaloraincounty.org website for up-to-date meeting info, Daily Reflections and Daily Thought readings.
~ No finding meeting listings on the ‘Meeting Guide’ app.
This is being pointed out because the Inter-Group is not getting the support we used to, let’s look at the last 7 years:
YEAR INCOME EXPENSES
GAIN/(LOSS)
2013 $65,484.62 $67,581.93 Loss ($2,097.31)
2014 $63,879.40 $66,647.44 Loss ($2,768.04)
2015 $69,305.11 $73,347.60 Loss ($4,042.49)
2016 $72,959.17 $70,633.80 Gain $2,325.37
2017 $67,516.40 $68,947.72 Loss ($1,431.32)
2018 $73,004.27 $72,624.88 Gain $379.39
2019 $69,859.49 $73,622.08 Loss ($3,762.59)
7 YEAR LOSS TOTAL
($11,396.99)
We want to keep giving the AA Community the best service we can. As you can see, losing more than $11,000 over 7
years, it is going to be hard. People are not supporting the fundraisers either, 2019 was the worst pig roast to date. We are
looking at some major cutbacks if things don’t turn around.
We do appreciate all the help we have gotten and continue to get; we just wanted you to know where we stand financially.
Thank you for all your support !!
