David Taylor is the Founder and Executive Director of Momentum Bike Clubs. Momentum Bike Club works with youth, ages 11-17, who are open to vigorous exercise and healthy peer and mentor relationships. With the assistance of local community-based partners, the club recruits eligible youth and connects them with volunteer adult mentors. Anchored in Positive Youth Development, Momentum utilizes relationships between the community and family to support children with multiple risk factors including persistent poverty, parental incarceration, and/or instability in home life. The club received a grant from the Faith Fund in 2016 to support an intern for the summer of 2017. David and his wife, Tandy, have two adult children. Bergsvein Toverud, tenor, is the soloist singing the introit today. Bergsvein, a Herring Choral Scholar in the Sanctuary Choir, is a sophomore music education major at Furman University. The Herring Choral Scholar fund was established to support Furman music students with scholarships, while providing the First Baptist Music Ministry with interns. Judy Snyder is our guest organist. Judy serves on the Personnel and Intern Committees. She and her husband, John, sing in the Sanctuary Choir and are members of the Price Class. They have three children and 5 grandchildren.
