After the presentation of the stage, designed by Frida Arvidsson and Viktor Brattström who also did ESC2013 in Malmö, Light Designer Fredrik Jönsson went for a more traditional rock´n´roll look with inspiration from the huge “masculine” rock´n´roll tours of 90´s with the enor-mous symmetrically built rigs.

All the lights were in very straight lines in groups of four, six or eight which corresponded to the setdesign and outline the “maskuline” ex-pression of the stage, at the back over the stage a 56 fixtures line of the impressive Clay Paky, Mythos stated the power of the concept.

[LITE]COM Group supplied preprogramming facilities at the Head Quarter of SVT, Swedish Television. Building a virtual studio for lighting designers and programmers to develop all the tmplates presets and creating the dynamic moods and transitions for the 48 different acts. The system was put to its max in the 4 week preproduction.

Light Designer Fredrik Jönsson had the difficult task of streching the look and vary the themes during the show, so each of the 42 songs, 3 opening shows and 3 interval acts had its own signature.

Over 200 million television viewers worldwide and the 42 delegations were served and received an evening to remember, in a worldclass execution of the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 Stockholm produced by Swedish broadcaster SVT.
