Congrats Longmont! You made a difference! Since Longmont began thesingle stream recycling program in November 2008,we have seen an increase in recycling by over 23%! Wehave reduced trash going to the land ll by over 1,000
tons! Thats over 100 truckloads per year that is notgoing to the land ll! Thanks for your tremendousrecycling efforts!
Over 25% of trash and waste
is actually organic material!
Decomposing food, yard waste and

Recycling Basics
Below is our Dirty Dozen hit list of the WORST THINGS TO PUT IN
YOUR GREY SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING CART. Please help make
single-stream recycling a success by keeping these materials OUT.
NO Plastic Bagsin single-stream recycling cart Plastic bags are the WORST contaminantin the recycling cart. When placed in acurbside cart, they get wet and dirty andcannot be recycled.

NO Shredded Paper
in single-stream recycling cart Shredded paper is too small to sort.
NO Non-Recyclable Plasticsin single-stream recycling cart While we have added new plastic items, many plastics are still not recyclable.Plastic lids and Styrofoam are notrecyclable.
