LONG TERM PLAN Beech Class 2019 - 2020 English Maths Science R.E I.C.T P.E AUTUMN 1 Unit 1: In this unit the students will read and compare short stories with a similar theme. ‘Alpine Divorce’ and ‘Landlady’ The students will read and perform a short story with a twist. The students will focus on characterization, setting and plot. In SPAG: Revision of nouns, pronouns, verbs, adverbs and adjectives and basic punctuation. Unit 1: Place value, ordering whole numbers and rounding numbers, up to 1,000,000. Unit 2: Number – Addition and Subtraction, solving problem with addition and subtraction. Unit 3: Fractions, Decimals and Percentages Whole Number Calculations. Linking maths problems to real life. Developing strategies for recalling information. Strengthening basic skills. Becoming a Scientist: Learning about safe working and laboratory skills. Identifying hazards in a chemical laboratory Using a Bunsen burner Reading temperatures Identifying laboratory equipment Understanding the scientific process for conducting an experiment The Diversity of Christian Expression: Discussing the variation among Christian denominations.
