President’s Message The Lone Cypress Win-nitascans just complet-ed another amazing ou ng together. Our Ou ng took place at The Gilroy Garlic USA RV Park in Gilroy, Ca. I first want to thank Dennis & Karen Camp-bell, Don Hill & Nancy Asche, and my amazing wife Laura Leavi , who along with myself, were the Wagonmasters for this ou ng. Most of us arrived on Thursday and a er a brief Happy Hour, we met up at The Long House Restaurant in Gilroy. Yummy meal, Great conversa on always works for me. We had a special Guest Couple join us for this ou ng, Bill & Cheryl Bisson. A few of us members have known the Bissons for many years, and we finally arranged to have them join us for an ou ng...(Yes, a bo le of 40 year old Scotch was in the nego a ons). On day 2 a large group of us made our way down to the Monterey Zoo, in Salinas. We have not been there for a few years, and boy has it changed. I am so happy that we went and visited some old friends and the newly re-modeled animal habitats. We returned in me to have a Spa-ghe Dinner with Salad and of course Garlic Bread. Saturday Morning start-ed off with Hobo Omelets and English
Muffins. A er our share of finger food for lunch, we held a quick mee ng which led right into our Tech Talk me. We Then prepared for the Main
Event. The SEVENTH ANNUAL FISH FRY. we welcomed some visi ng members who could only make it down for dinner and enjoyed the out-standing pot luck dishes along with the "secret recipe fried fish". Sunday morning surprise, scrambled eggs, Danish, and bananas made us all full to the brim. It is a wonderful thing to visit with FAMILY, and this group of ours, is Family. Four Nights in Solvang Flying Flags RV Resort
January 27-30, 2020
Buellton, California
As discussed in Gilroy our goal is to spend four nights (Monday thru Thursday) at
the Flying Flags RV Resort in Buellton just 4 miles outside Solvang, California.
The resort requires first night fees for those interested before they will even
consider reserving our time. Thirteen of you committed and asked for us to
proceed with the project, so here is where we are.
Wagon masters will be Pete and Marianne Loeser, John Beeley and Jessie Herr,
and Mike and Karen Guidotti.
The important thing now is we need the first night fees before we can proceed with
anything. Without your $80 we cannot book anything, and until Dee has the
first night fees, we are dead in the water. I know this leaves a lot of things
unanswered, but once we have the dates reserved, we’ll re-issue a sign-up similar
to the initial one on the next page and start working on a schedule of events. As of
right now the wagon masters have not met to begin the planning. We plan to put
together a nice balance between some planned group activities and lots of free time
for you to enjoy the resort facilities and do some shopping and exploring on your
own. This will not follow our usual set group get together format. There are an
incredible amount of things to do nearby, and you’ll need time to explore.
However, if you want information about the destination here are a couple web
resources.

What’s there
Marianne and I visited last year and her are a few shots from my collection of
about 500. Anybody ready for a slide show?
In Solvang – 10 minute drive - Danish shops and restaurants, museums, etc.
In Santa Ynez – 12 minute drive – Stage Coach, Train and Carriage Museum
At the Chumash Casino Resort – 20 minute drive – gambling, gift shop, restaurants
Golf, Wine tasting and Santa Barbara are all within easy driving distance.
Wow, you can even visit Michael Jackson's 2,700-acre former home, which lies ten
miles to the north. The 100 foot tall Nojoqui Falls are located in a county park about 7
miles southwest of the city, on Alisal Road. Lots more to see…
