Graduate Trader Programme

Supporting creativity

London Stone Trading Ltd is recruiting graduate traders. The ideal candidate will be talented and posses a degree in a finance/investment related field. Although previous experience is not necessary, showing commitment through extracurricular activities will be viewed favourably.

Supporting independent and creative thinking is at the core of our approach to management, as is encouraging teamwork and co-operation. We seek to always reward our team members for their efforts in this demanding trading environment, a flat hierarchy ensures that management remain accessible and approachable for both advice and continuous support.

Qualifications and requirements

Requirements: A minimum 2:1 degree in finance, mathematics, science or engineering Ability to work well under pressure Analytical and a problem solver outlook Capable of maintaining focus and a passion for success Ability to work both independently and in a competitive team Strong mental discipline and possess an aptitude for mathematics.

Preferable: Strong computer skills including programming (e.g. VBA, C++, C# etc) Utmost integrity to manage substantial corporate funds Ability to learn new skills quickly Self-starter willing to continue learning outside of the work environment Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions.

Stage two simulator tradingYou will be given access to our licensed trading platform and learn to trade live market prices with simulated funds. This is an integral part of your training where you will begin to create your own trading strategies and routines. You will be taught by your personal professional mentor every working day, giving you as many contact hours as you need. This experience will arm you with the training and knowledge needed to become profitable, consistent and successful.

Stage three - trading and supportIf traders wish to work towards a career in retail trading they will be sponsored to become FSA regulated and will be encouraged into employment as retail fund traders, corporate fund managers and individual client fund traders. If this doesn't suit, we can also offer employment as brokers, analysts and account executives within London Stone Securities Ltd.

Traders can elect to remain proprietary traders if they do not wish to take additional examinations.

Stage one training

After the selection process at our trading floors in London, trainee traders go through a demanding training programme with routine practical and theoretical assessments.

Our graduate trader programme is highly personalised, structured and intensive. Your personal abilities will be nurtured and you will develop your own personal trading style. We do not prescribe set strategies or techniques that you must follow, instead we train you in how to make the most of your personal qualities in your approach the markets. To become one of our successful traders you must master your own personality and emotions, and you will go through training in NLP, MBTI and SDI.

Fully backed

The London Stone Trading graduate trader programme is fully funded and requires no financial input from applicants.

Until the trainee is trading live corporate funds their income will be limited and so they must ensure they are able to live within a commutable distance to the City of London.

Once the training course is completed graduate traders receive a commission spilt on all profits generated from their trading.

Until a trader reaches a consistently profitable level their income will be limited due to their inexperience and so must be able to maintain an adequate lifestyle for at least six months.

Please note, this is initially a self-employed position, we do not offer an initial salary. You must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom working holiday or student visas cannot be accepted.

Ideal candidates are able to demonstrate a strong passion for trading, are able to work as part of a team and maintain mental discipline during trading hours.

We deliver free training, mentoring, market knowledge and strategies to all trainees who pass the selection process. For those candidates that are successful, full financial backing is provided by London Stone Trading Ltd, we expect the highest levels of commitment, achievement and dedication in return.

The graduate trader programme starts a new intake of traders quarterly and positions are limited and very competitive.
