Different for London
Many arenas are very tight for space -
we will expect photographers to be
seated
at more venues that before
Security will be rigorous… however,
they have been briefed about issues
photographers will have
Be prepared to consider traveling to
venues on public transport – it may be
to your advantage for some events.
Strict supervision of ‘remote’ cameras
Different for London
Remotes
Wherever possible we will try to put ‘actual’ photographers into all positions
More remotes will potentially be used in London than ever before
There will a strict code to follow, especially when fitting overhead cameras
Health and safety regulations in the UK are strict. If we do not consider the
equipment used to be safe or if the operator a liability, the remotes will not be
installed
In some of our arenas (in particular ExCeL) no proper catwalk exists
If cameras are to be fitted, this may be well ahead of the start of competition.
For this reason be sure to get your requests in early
You may have to consider completely remote controlled cameras for some
venues with trigger, focus and zoom and transmit functions
