All our tools have been developed to address specific needs of our Packaging development team. They are exclusive, and evaluate most of the technical aspects of the packaging concepts in a ver y early phase.

FUSIONThis project management tool provides the capability of real time management of all projects being developed at Logoplaste Innovation Lab, taking advantage of constantly updated information of all factors of packaging development, from Design and CAD work schedules to management of molds’ stock.

MOLDGENERATORThis software tool generates automatically the 3D Pilot Mold for the SBM machine, over the 3D plastic Container developed. The mold will automatically be ready to start preparing mold manufacturing, with all 3D and 2D drawings ready for tool shop, improving and optimizing overall process efficiency.

PRE-FORM GENERATORThis tool is used for the automatic generation of pre-from design. With the Inputs of the bottle, this software automatically generates the pre-form sketch drawing. The pre-form design can then be easily optimized by using or adjusting the most adequate stretch ratios. The immediate obser vation of the simulation, enables fast adjustments or corrections.

BIOMIMICRY METRICSThe Biomimicr y Metrics tool evaluates the sustainability of each developed packaging design according to Nature Life’s principles factors. The tool evaluates all variables of packaging development from design to manufacturing process and its logistics factors.

HUMANFACTORS METRICS

This tool evaluates howhumans behave physically and psychologically in relation to a

particular packaging solution in order to optimize user experience.

PERMALABThis software was specifically developed to simulate permeation of plastic containers. The Software is capable of simulating 02, CO2 and H2O permeation of standard materials used in the plastic Industr y, either in Mono orMulti-layer structure.The program enables direct comparison between different solutions, giving a clear over view for packaging development.

WHAT’S NEXT?At Logoplaste Innovation Lab we are constantly developing new specific tools to optimize all phases of the development process to deliver the best and most innovative packaging solutions.

DESIGN METRICSThis tool evaluates the feasibility

of a packaging design, stating more clearly the pros and cons of

each solution, improving the decision process. The tool analyses

the “Logoplaste Industrial Process”, “Partner Industrial

Process” and “Sustainability” vectors, to better support the

Design process and ensure the development of feasible solutions.

SBM SIMULATORSBM simulator enables a

real time visualization of the thickness profile of a specific

pre-form on a container.This tool can either be used to optimize pre-form design

or to check compatibility of a pre-form to a bottle.

ECOVER OCEAN BOTTLECLEANING DISHES AND THE OCEANS

This bottle was created to raise awareness for the problem of ocean contamination by plastic , and demonstrate that the impossible is in fact possible — the usage of this plastic as a resource. The Ecover ocean bottle is the first ever bottle made from waste plastic fished out of the ocean, using 10% recycled Ocean Plastic (the remaining plastic is recycled from other sources). The structural Design, supported by Biomimicr y Thinking, is inspired by the design principles of the skeletons of Diatoms and Radiolarians, helping optimise the mechanical performance of the bottle while allowing a weight reduction of 20%. These organisms form a large part of the plankton and zooplankton at the base of the marine and freshwater food chains and pollution is having a major impact in their populations.

“FILL FOREVER” BOTTLECREATING THE LIGHTEST REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE

“Fill Forever” is a reusable, eco friendly, fully recyclable, and light weight water bottle. It was created to be offered by EPAL, the public water supplier in Portugal, to promote the consumption of tap water ever ywhere, and not just indoors.Its design, inspired by a water cascade, is ergonomic and all its details were given careful attention to optimize resources and energy used in its production. The 500ml PET bottle weights 27.5 grams, and uses a manufacturing process that consumes much less energy when compared to glass or aluminium, materials that are often used to produce reusable bottles. The cap was also optimised and weighs just 1.25g, allowing the creation of one of the lightest reusable water bottles on the market. The new water bottle was launched, by EPAL, during the World Water Congress, the biggest international water sector event, with more than 5000 people.
