Logitech Keyboards and Desktops
Beyond one-dimensional navigation
For a long time, PC users accepted that clicking with a mouse was the primary way, if not the
only way, to navigate through text documents, menus, file folders, Internet pages, and other
items on the screen. While some explored alternatives and adopted various keyboard shortcuts
to increase their efficiency, the mouse hand (typically the right hand) remained the main
device for almost all navigation. Depending on one’s workload, this reliance on single-handed
navigation could gradually cause noticeable strain and fatigue for the mouse hand. With the
ever-increasing number of applications performed on today’s PC, this situation is ripe for
change.
Logitech has been a pioneer in the area of two-handed navigation.* Its latest keyboards and
desktops embody innovations that take this improved navigational approach to new heights.
Regardless of whether an economical or more sophisticated solution is right for your needs,
Logitech lets you combine the navigation controls of the keyboard and the mouse to make
using your computer more convenient, more efficient, and more comfortable.
Making everyday navigation simpler
The Logitech® Cordless Desktop® EX 110 product provides the perfect introduction to two-
handed navigation with two larger controls that that are neatly integrated but very easily
found on the left side of the keyboard. These enable returning to a previous Internet page and
closing an application. With one simple, instinctive touch you might easily open your browser
or e-mail application, then scroll through content, or click to a new Web page with your mouse.
With your left hand, you could then instantly return to the previous Web page, or close your
browser, without having to use your mouse.
Additionally, the EX 110 provides a row of enhanced F-keys, including four programmable keys
that, with one long press, allow instant access to and control of favorite applications or func-
tions.
* Two-handed navigation
“Many hands make light work” is a wise old saying. With the addition of
keyboard-based navigation controls, such as Internet Forward and Back or
Image Zoom buttons, your left hand is able to share navigation operations
with your right hand. Both hands can now work together as a team to make
light work of tasks, while also improving comfort and reducing fatigue.

The Logitech® Cordless Desktop® LX 300 represents just the right increase in basic navigational
convenience. Additional keyboard controls will open essential Windows folders with one touch,
while left-side controls now permit both Internet page forward and back actions, plus the
launch of your favorite Web search page or other often-used application.
Getting into a groove
With the Logitech® Cordless Desktop® S 510, the two-hand navigation possibilities become even
more engaging. Specifically designed for today’s media PCs, and matched ideally to the look of
flat-panel displays, the Cordless Desktop S 510 offers not only flexible image zoom capabilities
at the left edge of the keyboard, but the convenient ability to rotate images 90 degrees to the
right or left with a single touch. It’s even possible to rotate in the opposite direction using rotate
function while holding down the CTRL key. With an advanced optical mouse that provides side-
to-side as well as traditional vertical scrolling, navigation suddenly becomes ultra-fluid.
Consider a typical situation: With a dedicated keyboard control, you open the My Pictures folder,
or another folder, and then click open a file with the mouse. Almost simultaneously, you can
enlarge the picture, or reduce it to exactly the desired proportions with the keyboard zoom
control. Let’s say the file is an Adobe® pdf. You grab the image with your mouse and shift it to
the left. Then you zoom into the image with a quick click and press of the mouse’s tilt wheel, or
pan in either direction. All the while, the left hand is free to concentrate on rotating the image
with a single touch. The potential right and left-hand combinations in this ordinary scenario are
almost endless.
Even more, since many of the S 510 keyboard controls are easily programmable. There is great
flexibility and personalization in terms of what, as well as how, you can navigate. If you like, you
can re-assign the keyboard controls, or the four programmable F-keys, to open Web pages, move
back or forward to a previous page, or close the browser. In any case, it is now possible to imag-
ine orchestrating the actions of both hands across a range of tasks—and it not only saves effort;
it’s far more involving and fun.
Beyond one-dimensional navigation
True to its mission, the Logitech®
Media Keyboard Elite incorpo-
rates left-hand keyboard controls
dedicated to image zoom. In this
case you might open the My Pictures
folder with quick keyboard touch, and
click open a photo file with the mouse.
With the left hand, you can simultaneously
zoom in and out of the photo, or snap back to 100
percent size, all effortlessly.

Standing apart
Moving beyond the power of two-handed navigation and the refinement of traditional naviga-
tional controls, the remarkable Cordless Desktop S 510 Media Remote creates an entirely
different experience. Based on the idea that there are occasions when you’ll want to stand at a
distance from your desk, the S 510 Media Remote provides a wireless remote control unit that
is ideal for navigating and enjoying all your digital content—from as far as 15 feet away.
The remote itself is a marvel of economical design. With fewer buttons,
selected for the tasks that people use most frequently, it’s much more
intuitive than other complex remotes. And with the included Logitech®
MediaLife™ software, the convenience of the remote becomes even more
apparent. MediaLife presents all your stored digital content in a single
large-scale interface. Of course, the remote is compatible with other
popular media players such as iTunes®, Windows® Media Player, or Music-
Match™.
Picture yourself standing with friends about 10 feet away from your PC,
preparing to show them a
digital photo album on your monitor. Using the
remote unit, you can easily open your favorite media
player software, or a file folder, and then handily
scroll in any direction to locate a desired file. The
incredibly fluid four-way motion of the navigation
thumb-wheel provides unsurpassed ease of control.
It not only permits fast and precise universal scroll-
ing, but also lets you pan photos or images in either
direction with a quick, intuitive touch. Just as easily, you can zoom into or out of a picture to
locate and view a particular detail.
Want to give a PowerPoint® presentation during a small business meeting? No problem. The
remote is as handy for navigating productivity applications as it is for entertainment. Now
that’s flexibility.

Unlimited choice
Those who want to experience the full capability of an advanced two-handed navigation
system will want to get their hands on the Logitech® Cordless Desktop® MX™ 3000 Laser. Here,
virtually every navigational option has been provided—not just on the keyboard, but on the
unique laser mouse as well.
With the left-side keyboard controls, you can zoom in and out of images and
snap back to 100 percent, return to a previous Internet page, or instantly close
an application. The Cordless Desktop MX 3000 Laser provides the most
complete and convenient document scrolling capability as well. This includes
the freedom of vertical and horizontal scrolling, plus CruiseControl™, which
lets you accelerate and deccelerate scrolling speed, just as you desire. The
mouse provides sophisticated zoom and scrolling capabilities too, ensuring
that whatever combination of right and left-hand operations you prefer is
immediately available. Even more, you once again have the benefit of
programmability, so, if you choose, you can re-define specific controls to
personalize your experience.
Sensory integration
The Logitech® Cordless Desktop® MX™ 5000 Laser focuses on the growing popularity of digital
media enjoyment, but introduces a radical innovation in the style of the navigational controls
themselves.

The left side of the keyboard provides a new touch-sensitive Zoom control that
allow precise increases or decreases in image size with mere pressure from your
finger. Additionally, a unique LCD visual display at the head of the keyboard enables
multi-directional surfing through favorite playlists or radio stations, as well as selec-
tion with a single touch.
To complement these capabilities, the powerful Logitech® MX™ Laser Cordless Mosue for
Bluetooth® includes both vertical and horizontal scrolling, easy speed control, and even
programmable thumb buttons for additional navigational choices.
Easy street
Ultimately, this all means that Logitech is a tireless lead in making it easier for you to find,
review, choose, and enjoy the content on your PC. Whether your day centers on productivity at
work, media enjoyment, or a little of both, Logitech makes it flow more smoothly.
