INTRODUCTION
This logistical note is provided by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) for participants to the Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Workshop for enhancing knowledge on the Adaptation Fund Project Development Process and Project Full Cycle, which will be held in Tegucigalpa, Republic of Honduras, from June 7th to 9th, 2016. The workshop will take place at Real Intercontinental Hotel, located at Ave. Roble S/N, Frente A Mall Multiplaza, PO Box 2122: Tegucigalpa, 2122, Honduras. I. GENERAL INFORMATION
Honduras is a country in the American continent, located in the central-northern part of Central America. Its official name is Republic of Honduras and its capital city is Distrito Central (Central District), which is composed of two cities: Tegucigalpa and Comayagüela In Honduras total population exceeds 8.7 million inhabitants. Honduran population mostly depend on agricultural and farming activities. Other activities carried out in the country are trade, manufacturing activities, finance, public services, etc. Honduras is a multiethnic country. There are four main ethnic branches: white or mestizo (the majority of population), indigenous populations (lencas, misquitos, tolupanes, chortis, pech, tawahkas), Garifuna and English-speaking creole. Honduras has many attractive places for adventure travelers. From excursions into the jungle and submarine trips, to ancient Mayan archeological sites and indigenous communities. In the country there are 40 protected zones, 20 national natural parks and two locations listed as Unesco World Heritage Sites: Copan and the Platano river biosphere. Islas de la Bahia (Bay Islands) receive more than 50% of total tourists that visit Honduras. In the islands there are world class hotels and cuisine. To a lesser extent, other touristic cities are Copan Ruinas, Tela, San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa, Yojoa Lake and La Ceiba. Tegucigalpa
Tegucigalpa, officially “Municipio del Distrito Central” (Central District), abbreviated as “Tegucigalpa, M. D. C.”, commonly known as “Tegus”, is the capital city and seat of government of the Republic of Honduras. Tegucigalpa is characterized by its interesting and diverse cultural content. The city has a great cultural value that has attracted many people in the last decades. A beautiful style, colonial and modern at the same time, turns Tegucigalpa into a special site. Tegucigalpa is the political and administrative center of the country. There are 23 embassies and 16 consulates representing 39 countries around the world at a diplomatic and consular level. Most of public agencies and state-owned enterprises are located in Tegucigalpa, such as ENEE (Electric Energy National Enterprise) and Hondutel, respectively the national energy company and the national telecommunication company. Furthermore, Tegucigalpa is home to the national football soccer team, and the main Campus and Rectory of UNAH (National Autonomous University of Honduras), the highest house of studies in Honduras.

National Currency National currency is Lempira. Local and international banking services are available both in State entities and private institutions. Banks usually open non-stop from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The most accepted credit cards are: Visa, Master Card, American Express and Dinners Club. Small businesses, especially in the rural areas, only accept cash in local currency. If you need cash in local currency, Real Intercontinental Hotel provides currency change to its guests ($100.00 is the maximum that can be changed per day). In Honduras only American dollars can be exchanged for Lempiras. Participants will not be able to exchange any other currency. Weather Honduras is located on a tropical position, 15 to 16 degrees north of the equator. There are only two seasons: dry season and rainy season. Rainy season lasts from May to July. In August, the rains stop and they generally resume from September to November. Dry season is from November to April or May. High temperatures average in the country is 32°C (90 F), and low temperatures average is 20°C (68 F). During the workshop, temperatures will oscillate around 30°C. Airport Toncontin International Airport serves the city of Tegucigalpa. It is one of the main airports in Honduras, located in the southern area of the city, 6 km southwest of the center of the Tegucigalpa. The first BRISTOL airplane arrived in the city more than eighty years ago, at Toncontin International Airport, which is still the airport of the capital. International companies such as American Airlines, Avianca, Delta, United, Continental, Copa and national enterprises such as Isleña, CM Airlines, Sosa Airlines and Central American Airways transport thousands of passengers and tons of cargo every day.

Immigration requirements All citizens willing to enter the country should present the following documents:
Passport: 6 month validity at least
Airline ticket: you should present a return travel or transit ticket If a visa or health certificate is needed in order to enter Honduras, please get in touch with the Honduran embassy or consulate in the different participant countries. Please take note to obtain all the immigration details as many South American countries require to show a proof of vaccination against yellow fever.

III. DETAILS ON THE REGIONAL WORKSHOP The Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Workshop for enhancing knowledge on the Adaptation Fund Project Development Process and Project Full Cycle will be held on Real InterContinental Hotel, located in the financial and business district, in front of the most exclusive shopping mall of Tegucigalpa, which has more than 150 shops. Dress code Formal dress is recommended during the regional workshop. During the field visit to a project financed by the Adaptation Fund (the third day of the workshop) we recommend casual clothing, comfortable shoes and sunblock. Language during the workshop The official language of the workshop will be Spanish, but many presentations and interventions will be in English for which simultaneous translation will be available in both languages. Transportation CABEI will provide transportation from Toncontin International Airport to Real Intercontinental Hotel to participants of the workshop. Transportation will be organized according to the airplane ticket information specified by the participants. Transportation service will be waiting for the participants at the exit of the airport. It will be identified by a label showing the logos of CABEI and Adaptation Fund. Similarly, transportation from the hotel to the airport will be provided at the end of the workshop. Official Hotel
Real Intercontinental Hotel CABEI and the Adaptation Fund cover the costs of accommodation and dinner of the GRULAC country representatives assisting to the workshop. A maximum amount of US$16.00 per person per dinner has been approved. This condition applies for dinners only for Monday 6th and Wednesday 8th of June, considering that on Tuesday 7th and Thursday 9th we will be offering cocktails that include diverse cocktail snacks. Any additional expense incurred by the participants will be paid individually by each participant. For those participants from international organizations and multilateral development banks whom cover their own expenses, Real Hotel Intercontinental is providing a special rate for all participants to the workshop.
