Exalted Ruler’s Message
July marks the beginning of this year’s second quarter and our
second month of having our new pavilion operational. We have
heard many positive comments about how well it has turned out
and how excited members are to use it. It is the culmination of
work by many of our Members over the past 2 plus years. The
lodge would like to thank everyone involved who made this hap-
pen; it turned out great!
June has seen other events occur from Rock painting classes to
Fathers’ Day Lunch and Flag Day celebrations. We also have a
House Committee Chairman: John Gebert PER has stepped up
to fill the position, Thank you John for always demonstrating your
willingness to serve our Lodge.
I have included a section in this bulletin for members to be aware
of when the lodge has various committee meetings (see Page 3).
All meetings with the exception of PER meetings, are open to any
member. The only exception is that when a committee discusses
a personnel issue it is a closed meeting. All others can be attend-
ed, however, unless recognized by the chair of that meeting, only
committee members may speak.
Finally, I want to thank Jon Gebert for accepting and chairing not
only our investigation committee but also the Chairman of our
House Committee. John is always ready to serve our members
and for that reason he is the Elk of the Month this Month. Thank
you John for all that you do.
Mike Hughes, Exalted Ruler

On Sunday, June 2nd, we had another Painting Class with Mary Beach. We had 19 fun, artistic ladies that came together and shared finger foods, drinks and an all around good time. Each lady left with either a beautifully painted rock or tile. Our next class is already being discussed, and this class will involve painting on canvas. Be sure to stay tuned for details.
Then, this past Sunday, we had our Father’s Day Lunch. We served 24 Dad’s along with their fami-ly and friends bringing attendance to 60 people. We offered special drinks for the Dad’s, and we enjoyed a great lunch prepared by….and served up by some special people. A huge thank you goes to Rich Bastedo for making “the best” meatballs and gravy, George April for making that awesome po-tato salad, and to Elizabeth West, Jeff West, Lois Price and Linda Layman for plateing, serving the food, and then cleaning the kitchen!!!
Oh, I can’t forget to mention how well Sara McDavitt is able to cut watermelon into wedges, Jimmy Dean is a mean stamping machine, Joe Smith cut all the table coverings, Liz Bastedo trimmed them up, and Amy and Rosie Dean made sure the final touches were just right.
You see, it takes an army to try and put on an event……
Please check the table flyers for upcoming events…. and to those of you that support our events….
THANK YOU !!!!!
