READING PRIDE AT LOCKWOOD
SCHOOL
On Thursday, October 6, "Reading Pride" will take place at Lockwood School. Volunteers from Exxon-Mobil Billings Refinery, First In-terstate Bank and MSUB will visit classrooms to read to students. The volunteers will be making quarterly visits to promote the message that "reading matters" in everything we do. What a great collaborative partnership between neighborhood business to promote reading and lit-eracy at Lockwood School.
PUMPKIN PAINTING
It’s time to paint pumpkins! The Family Resource Center invites all families to join us in our annual Family Pumpkin Painting Night. We will be meeting from 7:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, in the cafeteria. The cafeteria doors will be open. Please bring a pumpkin and we will provide the paint, ribbon and snacks. Remember this is a family event. Children must be with an adult to attend. Donations of $1.00 will be appreciated for paint supplies. See you there!
FIRE PREVENTION
Fire Prevention will be October 10, 11, and 12. The students attend presentations put on by the Lock-wood Fire Department. Information on following safety procedures in case of fire, escape plans and ways to prevent fire are all covered. Ask your child what they learned from this outstanding program!

BOUNTIFUL BASKETS
Bountiful Baskets is a group of people who work to-gether for mutual benefit. This is a grassroots, all-vol-unteer, no contracts, no catch co-operative. Since there are no employees at Bountiful Baskets, we as a group contribute rock bottom prices on your food. This also means the co-op would not happen without volunteers. If you are interested in the co-op continuing, please vol-unteer occasionally. All it takes is a little time, energy and a smile. Volunteer opportunities include helping prepare the baskets, breaking down boxes, assisting with the distribution, and packing up. To help out, sim-ply arrive an hour early dressed and ready to work with water to drink.
Currently Bountiful Baskets has a site at Lockwood Middle School that is available every other Saturday for picking up your basket. Check the main website for the dates at http://bountifulbaskets.org.
