Location shoot (Reece)As a group we thought about our location for our film opening. We looked at horror films such as:
We have noticed that most horror films are set in dark, lonely and isolated areas this adds effect to the film giving it a scary and frightening atmosphere.
We have decided to set our film opening in the woods to create tension because of the dark and scary surroundings.
We took a range of photos to help us choose where to set our film opening.
The Cabin in the Woods Last House on the Left
This is a good clear pathway with trees either side which would add a scary and frightening effect.
This is a slightly darker part of the woods as there are more trees which give a dark and gloomy
effect.
This is a good clear pathway with many directions which we could use as a possibility when filming
our opening.
We liked this location because of all the leaves however we felt the branches didn’t cover up the
sky enough making it very bright.
The clear pathway with the trees either side could look very effective if we angled the camera at a
high angle.
We liked the open space where we could position the camera and use the other side of the stream in
between the trees.
We thought about the ditch in the ground to place the doll but we think this location will be too bright
and not scary enough.
