Boscombe Pier is the heart of my music video, the area is a well-known beauty spot when filming, I need to pick a sensible time to avoid harsh weather conditions and disruption by the public.

Weather Conditions: Briefly explained in the section to the left, there is a huge possibility that rain may occur when filming in this area. Make sure umbrellas are used to protect equipment and staff if raining occurs during

filming. If out, there is a chance that large gusts of wind will blow sand into the eyes of the team.

Disruption in production capturing: Filming in this area may be difficult as it is an open space with changing weather conditions. The public could be a bit of a problem as it is an open space and I would need to get the permission of anyone who gets in the shots.

Brief Safety Side: The pier and the beach is well maintained but after briefly scouting the area, rubbish does pile up, this can be anything from rubbish packets to broken glass.

Elements to Consider:

The Public: As the beach and pier are open, public areas, it is vital to make sure local people are okay with being filmed. If you want to avoid this, go at a time where there aren’t so many people. Summary: Ask for permission before filming any members of the public to avoid complication and hazards.

Weather: South-western England is known for its rain conditions and after such a wet summer and start of the winter, rain is almost certain to occur 2-6 times a week from light to heavy showers. When filming here, staff members should wear rain coats to avoid health issues, as well as a medic kit and a trained first aider.

Risks and Safety: During the location scout, we have marked and noted a variety of risks that could injure or effect a staff member’s health.
