Your child’s class teacher will be happy to talk or arrange a time to meet. They will be able to give you information about your child’s progress and answer any questions. The special educational needs co-ordinator (SENCO) will be able to answer questions about specialist services available and give information regarding referral to them.

Avalon’s Parent Family Support advisor (PFSA), Angela Bolton, can sign post you to different specialist support services and local group activities.

Avalon School is an accessible site, with equipment to facilitate all pupils learning and wellbeing. If you would like more specific information, contact the school office to arrange a school tour.

Will

educational visits?
Yes, offsite visits will be physically accessible for all pupils. There may be occasions when a child is unable to participate on health and safety grounds, the class teacher will talk to parents involved about this before the visit.

on from
your school?
Your child’s transition to and from Avalon will be discussed with you. Visits and sessions with new peers and staff will be offered. Social stories, with photos, will be provided so you can support your child with their transition at home.
