4. Carefully pull every 4 groups of weaves tobring the butt ends of midrib to about 1 cmfrom the twine.
5.1 Weaving the Sides1. Take a group of 4 weavers and weave under 3
groups over 2 under 2 over 2, clockwise.2. Weave the next group in the same manner.
Continue around until the last group is woven.3. Tighten the weaves by pulling carefully the
weaves at the bottom. Arrange weaves as theyare tighten so that they lie flat, close, andparallel to each other.
5.2 Wave the base4. Turn the tray upside down to weave the extra,
ends, at bottom. Again, pick a group ofweavers and weave under 2 over 2.
5.3 Tighten the weaves5. Insert every 4 groups of ends and through the
spaces between woven weavers, at regularintervals.
6. Cut neatly all protruding ends. A bigger tray ofbasket can be made by increasing the midribsby 28 pieces more; there will be 16 midribs toa group. Every increase of 28 will need about15 cm increase in length of midribs. The sidesof the tray can be made to stand as in a bowlby regulating the tightening of weaves.
When you have developed the skills andtechniques for weaving this article, it will take youonly about 30 minutes to finish a tray, may beeven less.Note: Reduce or decrease number of brooms ifyou require a smaller of bigger basket.
