Lloyd’s F.C has always been organised as a friendly based Club preferring to promote and enhance the dual interests of the Lloyd’s market and the Corinthian principles of fair play and the “beautiful game” rather than merely competition.

The Club have long standing historical playing relationships with a variety of representative sides such as The Royal Marines, Sandhurst Military Academy, Oxford, Cambridge, London and Cardiff Universities and representative teams from the various leagues around the South East of England. In the past, a friendly competition was founded called the Argonaut Cup involving many of these teams. Lloyd’s won the competition on numerous occasions; however the competition lapsed many years ago now.

The First XI Team now plays around a dozen fixtures per season along with up to five veterans’ fixtures.

The Club has undergone a change in fortune over the last decade as the current committee took what was essentially a shell of a club in the early nineties and made it solvent, relevant, given it a full fixture list with a full roster of good young players. The Committee has also established a social programme and created a touring team.
