Global vantageWith opportunities for study in Singapore, Shanghai, and New York City, the LL.M. in Global Business Law offers a world-class perspective on law in the 21st century. Graduates also earn a second LL.M. degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) Faculty of Law, Asia’s Global Law School.

The rigorous training of an NYU LL.M.—with a focus on Asia and its relations with the worldDistinguished NYU Law faculty arrive in Singapore each May to teach the majority of classes. Students also take classes with NUS Law faculty and can choose an NUS LL.M. with a specializa-tion in Corporate & Financial Services Law, Intellectual Property & Technology Law, International & Comparative Law, Maritime Law, or Asian Legal Studies.

A valuable foothold in ChinaStudents have the option of taking courses in Shanghai at the East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL). Classes are taught by NUS professors as part of that university’s

international business law program.

“As Asia’s importance

in the global economy

continues to expand, there

will be a greater demand

for lawyers who understand

and can move comfortably

between multiple legal

systems and legal cultures.”ALEx SEvErANCE (LL.M. ’08), UNITED STATES

“This is a truly international experience, a cultural melting pot.” ArPANA vASANTh KUMAr (LL.M. ’08), INDIA

A unique path to the New York bar examAfter the completion of both master’s degrees, new graduates may attend a 100-hour seminar in New York offering intensive exposure to legal institutions, thought, and practice in the United States. The seminar begins in May (a year after students start the dual degree program in Singapore) and concludes in time to sit for the New York bar exam in July.

ScholarshipsThe Singapore program supports several merit-based scholarships and awards for a select group of admitted students. Promising students with proven records of achievement may be offered one of the following:

Singapura Scholarships (full tuition and reasonable living expenses)
