BLOCK ASSEMBLY PROJECT USES PRECISE 1/4” SEAMS. TEST YOUR SEAM ALLOWANCE BY CUTTING (2) 2-1/2” X 5”RECTANGLES. STITCH THEM TOGETHER ALONG THE 5” LENGTH. AT THE MIDPOINT, MEASURE ACROSS THE UNIT. IT SHOULD BE EXACTLY 4-1/2” WIDE. IF NOT, ADJUST YOUR SEAM ALLOWANCE AND REPEAT.

FINISHED SIZE: 67” X 73”

FINISHING Cut batting and backing 3” larger than top on all sides. Layer backing, batting and top together and baste or pin. When quilting is completed, trim excess batting and backing. Bind as usual.

Block 1:1. Sew (1) B 10-1/2” square, (1) C 4-1/2” x 6-1/2” rectangle, (1) T 1-1/2” x 6-1/2” rectangle, (1) D 5-1/2” x 6-1/2” rectangle and (1) T 1-1/2” x 10-1/2” rectangle together to make (1) pieced block.

2. Repeat Step 1 using the Quilt Layout for fabric identification to make (12) pieced blocks total using (1) 10-1/2” square, (1) 4-1/2” x 6-1/2” rectangle, (1) 5-1/2” x 6-1/2” rectangle, (1) T 1-1/2” x 10-1/2” rectangle and (1) T 1-1/2” x 6-1/2” rectangle per block.

Quilt Assembly:3. Following the Quilt Layout, sew (3) assorted 10-1/2” x 17-1/2” strips, (7) T 1-1/2” x 17-1/2” rectangles and (3) pieced blocks together to make one row. Repeat to make four rows.

5. Sew (5) T 1-1/2” x (67-1/2”) rectangles and the four rows together, alternating them and rotating the second and fourth rows 180 degrees, to make the quilt.
