EDItOrIALMuchos quieren que termine pronto este año. Buenas noticias, el tiempo corre rápido este mes con una Teletón que debe cumplir la meta y con la singularidad que tiene para cada uno y sus familias la Navidad y el Año Nuevo. El mes en sí es más corto, pero no menos entretenido con ese variopinto escenario que presentamos acá. Nosotros queremos dar las gracias a todos los que nos apoyan día a día con Livin Santiago. Ya estamos en nuestra edición número 20 y el esfuerzo ha valido la pena. Seguimos en 2012 para entregar toda esta revuelta de panoramas que aparecen hora tras hora, minuto a minuto y que no dejan de sorprender. Rico es hoy el Santiago que nos aleja de décadas pasadas, bakan el Santiago que nos deja vivir al aire libre y que nos pone en el camino una gran señalética que dice: “entre y páselo bien”. Aprovechen las calles y sus espacios, al aire libre… nosotros aprovechamos a nuestros lectores y sus intereses. Many people want this year finishes quickly. Good news, time runs fast this month with a Telethon that must get the target and the singularity that has for each one and their families Christmas and New Year. Son ocho fotografías de gran formato impresas en tela, en la que sus personajes –todas mujeres irreales pero con una particular belleza– viven y despliegan un discurso de género relacionado con la violencia.

El más básico concepto de agricultura biodinámica, es considerar el terri-torio de cultivo como un organismo propio, disminuyendo al máximo la dependencia del exterior y por su-puesto cualquier tipo de pesticidas, herbicidas o conservantes que no sean naturales.Se usan técnicas con el objetivo de preparar la tierra, de forma que se fomenten los microorganismos y la materia orgánica en el suelo a través de los “preparados biodinámicos”, como por ejemplo, un cuerno de vaca relleno de abono del animal, que se entierra a finales de septiembre y se desentierra en el solsticio de prima-vera y cuyo fin es conseguir bacterias naturales en la tierra. También se usan otro tipo de preparados a base de cuarzo molido (sílice) o plantas homeopáticas y medicinales como la manzanilla, milenrama u ortiga.

Y en qué mejor momento.Veteranos pese a su juventud, han dado un paso gigante para volver definitiva-mente. Nostalgia y Herencia setentera, se mezclan en una orgía de buen funk, hip hop y soul.Los Tetas tuvieron inteligencia y olfato cuando aparecieron a mediados de los 90’s, jugueteando con melodías fiesteras, que poseían una luz más clara y contagiosa que el resto de la escena. A different accelerated histrionics, which opened new standards of quality.The sharp incentives turn the dance floor on and the strength and style that themselves raised based on great funky rythms printed with such groove that flirt with the disc, is nothing but applauses. We were with them, talking about the great mess that will become with this return.

Pasa que cada uno pudo desarrollar sus carreras solistas, lo cual desahogo mucho lo que llegó a parar un poco esto. También se dieron las condicio-nes monetarias, de tiempos precisos y la gente lo estaba pidiendo. Todo se estaba dando como una reacción química donde están los elementos justos.¿Cuál es el aporte de ustedes a esta nueva etapa de Los Tetas?Pepino: Una interpretación más sólida y una experiencia más clara.C Funk: Gracias a lo que hecho como solista y a lo que me dejó Los Tetas en cuanto a bagaje, escenarios y a los proyectos que he logrado con-cretar, me siento mucho más sólido musicalmente dentro de este negocio. Tengo una visión más amplia que quiero aportar a este proyecto, con seriedad y solidez musical. ¿Cuáles han sido los resultados de las Teletones de los últimos años?Partimos atendiendo niños de 0 a 18 años y ahora atendemos hasta los 24 años; tenemos 11 institutos de rehabilitación, hemos sacado de alta a 70.000 niños y jóvenes, y para el 2014 vamos a tener tres institutos más, además de ampliar en un 50% nuestra capacidad en la sede de Santiago. Han aumentado considerablemente…Sí, porque no hay lugares donde puedas atenderte gratis, es muy caro. Nuestro sueño es tener un centro a 250 kilómetros del lugar de origen, y con catorce institutos creo que vamos a tener cumplida esa meta. Queremos mantener lo que hemos construido entre todos. El 70% de la recaudación de cada campaña la ponemos todos los chilenos y hay que hacerle sentir a la gente que todo vale la pena, y mucho. El día que la gente deje de donar en la Teletón, se termina. Son dos días intensos, ¿qué po-demos esperar en la Teletón 2011?Que el 2 y 3 de diciembre movilicemos

Ha cruzado tu vida, ha cruzado generaciones completas. ¿Cómo se imagina un país sin Teletón? ¿Qué hubiese pasado con todos esos niños?Creo que su vida hubiera sido mucho mas difícil, y que no habrían tenido la rehabilitación que tienen y el espacio que hasta ahora han logrado.

Fueron la primera agrupación chilena en adentrarse al mundo del body percussion –la misma disciplina que realizan colectivos como Stomp y Mayumana– y les ha ido bien. Muy bien. De hecho, ya son más de diez años los que esta compañía de seis integrantes lleva presentándose en Chile y Latinoamérica con gran éxito, sobre todo en México, en donde la crítica no ha parado de alabarlos. Y para celebrarlos, Teatro Phi vuelve a nuestro país con la obra que los ha hecho famosos: Auch!, un espectáculo lleno de energía en el que a través de golpes a sus cuerpos y objetos cotidianos –como sartenes, vasos, mesas y tubos de pvc– crean los más variados ritmos y percusiones, desde una batucada hasta una auténtica cueca. Todo eso combinado con ágiles coreografías, baile y dosis de humor. Un juego lúdico y teatral, que se llevará cabo sólo este 9 de diciembre en el Teatro Teletón. Imperdible.

They were the first Chilean group en-tering the world of body percussion - the same discipline made by groups such as Stomp and Mayumana - and they have done well. Very well. Por segunda vez, vuelve a nuestro país la multifacética e irreverente Malena Pichot, esta vez junto al guapo actor Exequiel Campa, con quien presentará la exitosa stand up comedy “Campa/Pichot”.

Una histérica ex novia que presentaba descargos contra su vida y los hom-bres. Ese fue el comienzo de Malena Pichot y sus videos como “La loca de mierda”, que a partir de 2009 comenzó a difundir vía Youtube, transformándose en todo un fenómeno que incluso llegó a las pantallas de MTV. Hoy, a casi tres años de eso, toda la irreverencia y desenfado de Pichot se vuelcan en múltiples proyectos: un programa de radio, una decena de guiones, una serie con el destacado director argentino Juan José Campanella –el mismo de “El secreto de sus ojos”–, y el espectáculo “Campa/Pichot”: un éxito rotundo en las tablas, que en Argentina y Uruguay se ha exhibido a tablero vuelto.Esa es la obra que la trae nuevamente a los escenarios santiaguinos este 15 de diciembre, junto al actor Exequiel Campa. Es una oportunidad para que nuevos talentos se desarrollen y especialicen y que la audiencia se interiorice con un género poco explorado en el país.¿Por qué en Chile el género del do-cumental musical es aún incipiente?Durante mucho tiempo, y por las circuns-tancias históricas del país, el documental se centró en la denuncia política, que era un tema más urgente. Además, desde siempre han existido una serie de barreras tecnológicas y económicas, que han demorado el desarrollo del género, a diferencia de Estados Unidos e Inglaterra. Por ejemplo, este año ha-remos un homenaje al documentalista estadounidense Murray Lerner, que ha hecho películas a The Who, Miles Davis, Bob Dylan y Jimi Hendrix. Él es un realizador que ha forjado su carrera a través de este género y aunque en Chile todavía no exista esa persona, tenemos la sensación de que el In-Edit está abriendo un nicho para que más talentos incursionen en él.¿Cuál ha sido el mayor cambio en estos ocho años de festival?Cuando partió el In-Edit habían muy pocos títulos en competencia y no de muy buena calidad. Hoy, llegan cada vez más y mejores películas. De alguna manera sentimos que hemos ido acompañando el desarrollo del género en sí mismo y creciendo con él.¿Qué novedades trae In-Edit Nscafé 2011?Hay muchos estrenos, como el docu-mental de Martin Scorsese “Living in the material World”, que narra sobre la carrera del ex Beatle George Harrison. También el largometraje “Pina”, del alemán Wim Wenders, que es un ho-menaje a la coreógrafa Pina Bausch. Y el estreno de “Chico y Rita”, una película animada del español Fernando Trueva que cuenta la historia de una pareja de músicos cubanos. Con esta cinta, España está postulando a los Oscar, como mejor película extranjera. Y en cuanto a las cintas nacionales, hay buenísimas películas sobre Los Bunkers, Pánico y Los Jaivas.

¿Cómo nace la historia de Gatos Viejos?Nace bastante inusualmente. Teníamos ganas de hacer una película con Bélgica Castro y Alejandro Sieveking –que son pareja- y la historia empezó a surgir en su departamento, de cómo vivían, son sus gatos. Empezamos a imaginar una historia para que ellos la protagonizaran en ese lugar, que se convirtió en algo muy distinto a ellos mismos. ¿Qué simbolizan los gatos en la trama?Los gatos se convierten en familia-res regalones que jamás te critican, que dependen de tí y que jamás se rebelan: unos hijos perfectos. que sabemos lo que queremos al filmar, tenemos opiniones disímiles en ciertos aspectos y vamos explorando las diferencias, partiendo de una base común de acuerdo que es la historia que queremos contar. Cuando hay ese nivel de acuerdo, hay mucha afinidad y comienzas a trabajar para el proyecto antes que para tu ego.¿Cómo es que en tan sólo 15 días de filmación lograron hacer una película que fue elegida por el Wall Street Journal como una de las cintas recomendadas del Festival de Cine de New York?Fue difícil, pero tuvimos la suerte de contar con todos los elementos que necesitábamos, actores de lujo que armaron una historia divertida, humo-rística y verosímil. Nos conocíamos la historia muy bien y usamos casi una sola locación. Para poder lograrlo, en el set siempre hubo sólo la gente necesaria y mucha concentración.¿Con qué te sientes más cómodo, con la escritura o con la dirección? La verdad el único lugar donde me siento completamente cómodo es dibujando, que es escritura, dirección, diseño de arte… todo. En el cine la prefiero un poco como eso, cuando se da la posibilidad de dirigir tu propio material, es fantástico. Pero depende del proyecto. Lo que creo no haría jamás es dirigir algo que no he escrito.¿En qué nuevos proyectos estás trabajando?Estoy terminando una novela gráfica en estos momentos. Se está filmando la película de la campaña del NO de Pablo Larraín, que escribí. Se está transmitiendo en México la serie Niño Santo, que escribí y produje y de la que ya estoy empezando a planear la segunda temporada.

When there is this level of agreement, there is much affinity and you start to work for the project rather than for your ego.How is that in only 15 days of filming you could make a film that was chosen by the Wall Street Journal as one of the best films of the New York Film Festival ?It was difficult, but we were lucky to have all the elements that we nee-ded, great actors that put together a fun, humorous and credible story. We knew the story very well, and we used almost one single location. To achieve it , there were always on the set only the necessary people and much concentration.What makes you feel more comfor-table: writing or directing?Actually , only place where I feel com-pletely comfortable is drawing, writing, direction, design of art… all. In the film, I prefer it a little like that, when you have the chance of directing your own material, is fantastic. But depends on the project. What I think I would never do, is to direct something that I have not written.New projects that are you working now ?I am just finishing a graphic novel at this moment. The film of the NO campaign of Pablo Larraín is being filmed, that I wrote myself. Series Niño Santo is being broadcasted in Mexico, which I wrote and produced, and that I’m already starting to plan for the second season.

Lo único que necesito son mis zapatillas Skechers que son ultra livianas y ponerme a correr.Igual ahora en verano pareciera que Santiago se detiene, ¿percibes eso?Santiago durante enero y febrero es un placer. El 80 por ciento de la gente se va y hay una tranquilidad única: hay pocos tacos, la gente anda buena onda y relajada, cero agresiva. Me gusta ese cambio del caos navideño de diciembre a lo pausado de enero.¿Cómo lo haces para encontrar una pausa dentro del ritmo capitalino?Mi tiempo de escape es cuando hago deporte. He sido muy deportista toda mi vida. Eso sí, siempre que sea al aire libre porque no soporto estar aden-tro de un gimnasio. Lo que más me gusta es surfear, en especial durante el invierno y el otoño cuando no hay nadie y las marejadas son perfectas. ¿Y qué haces cuando no te queda otra que quedarte en Santiago?Aprovecho la ciudad. Salgo sagrada-mente dos días a la semana a correr 10 km por el Parque Bicentenario. El acto de salir a trotar es también una manera de interactuar.
