100 % of the farmers take up soybeans farming in kharifseason.

They have been doing the farming of Soya crop for last 15

    years.

They are well acquitted with life cycle of the Soya crop.

According to the farmers the production is up to two quintals

per Bigha or 10 quintals per ha.

It is a cash crop giving the farmers money.

The harvesting process is relatively easy in comparison to

    other crops..

Plan and Implementing StrategySr.no Plan for first year : The strategy that will be implemented

1 Target - All 4 villages will be covered which fall under the watershed area.

2 Coverage - 25 farmers and gradually scaled up depending upon the response.

3 The demonstration area 5 hectares ( 25 Bighas) i.e 1 Bigha per farmer. (to mitigate the

    risk)

    4 Seed requirement :

15 to 16 Kg per bigha approx.

    Total requirement 25 bigha*16 kgs = 400 Kg ( 4 Quintals)

The price of the certified seeds 2500 to 3000 per quintal

    Total amount - requirement - 4 Quintal ( 4 quintal * Rs 3000 = Rs 12000 approx)5 Use of IT

Installation of Farm ERP Package (available in along with installation of computer system

Farming @ IT : Technology @Grassroots Providing simple benefits

    WORK FLOW

If the farmer feeds in the name of the

crop and the sowing date, the ERP

    software creates schedule that the

    farmer can follow

The schedule has the date when it should be

irrigated next apart from the information on

which fertilizer to add, how much to add. It

also gives information on when and how the

    harvest should be done

    The farmer can record the

    invoices, bills, and other

    documents in the software

    which can help him manage

    his produce in next season.

FarmERP helps farmers document and analyse as per

expenses, labour cost and other variables.

The software developers want to make the farming exercise

more stable by making it predictable as much as possible.

The early adopters of the software are the grape farmers in

Nasik , Maharashtra where farmers are known to be

    progressive .

    Cost of ERP

    Standard Rs 15,000

    Professional Rs 35,000

    High Professional Rs 75,0000
