Director’s MessageThe Indian Institute of Management Bangalore offers world-class management education at the masters and doctoral levels, as well as executive education in open and customized programmes. We motivate our students to advance their own careers and also deliver significant social impact through entrepreneurship and innovation. Our faculty focus on thought leadership through research and case writing, and present their research in leading academic and practitioner-oriented journals, books, case studies, symposia and conferences.

We have chosen to embrace technology to enhance the impact of our educational programmes. As the first Indian management school to become a participating member of edX, the Harvard-MIT joint venture, we have launched several MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) this year. As we develop creative ways of using technology, we will enhance the learning experience of our students on campus, just as we bring value to those spread across India and the world.

Programmes

Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) The Fellow Programme in Management (FPM), IIMB’s doctoral programme, is committed to training individuals who will excel in their area of research through publication of quality work of international standard.

Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) The two-year PGP, leading up to a Post Graduate Diploma in Management, is designed to equip students with the skills and capabilities that will enable them to acquire global positions in management. The PGP revolves around the principle that world-class business leaders are not mass-produced; they are nurtured and developed with personalized care and attention in small work groups and teams, and in a practical, application-oriented, user-friendly environment.

Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy & Management (PGPPM) Catalyzed by the Government of India and United Nations Development Programme, the PGPPM is a one-year fulltime diploma programme focused on public policy and management. It is packed with path-breaking insights about policy-making and management strategies.

Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM) The PGPEM is a 22-month diploma programme delivered over weekends. Participants learn from world-class faculty and strengthen their network through collaboration with peers. Designed for working mid-career and senior executives, PGPEM is tailored to integrate real-world experience with classroom learning.

Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) The EPGP is an intensive one-year, full-time programme designed to enhance skills and capabilities essential for leadership positions at senior management levels. Challenging, widespread and globally oriented, the objective of this programme is to produce future leaders who

can handle the dynamic corporate environment.

EXECUTIVE EDUCATION PROGRAMME (EEP)

IIMB offers Executive Education Programmes, which cater to a wide variety of organizations in government, the public and private sectors and non-governmental organizations, with open and customized programmes ranging from two days to one year.

We are the only Indian management school to feature in the Financial Times Executive Education 2015 Top 50 Global Rankings.

We have launched a new course called Business Planning for International Markets, where students get exposure to international markets.

We are India’s first management school to join edX as a participating member. EdX, a non-profit enterprise created by founding partners Harvard University and MIT, offers interactive online classes from the world’s best universities. Through our MOOCs on edX, we are leveraging technology to reach a global audience and create social impact.

We collaborate with over 100 top management schools in the world for various research initiatives and student and faculty exchange programmes.

Our faculty’s research appears in top management journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Harvard Business Review, Management Science, Organization Science, Journal of International Business Studies, and MIS Quarterly.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship We empower students to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. The NS Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning’s mission is to tap into new ideas and transform them into successful business entities through a structured mentoring programme.

NSRCEL currently incubates 18 startups, making it one of the larger academic incubators in India. The incubatees represent a wide range of businesses. Several are progressing well in terms of customer acquisition and mobilizing funding, the two best measures of external validation for a start-up. Six of these have been launched by our own students.

Our students also have opportunities to do short projects with start-ups as part of their courses and gain valuable insights before they graduate from the school. In order to encourage students to try out entrepreneurship, we allow them to defer placement.

Placement FlexibilityAfter the completion of the Post Graduate Programme in Management, students can postpone placement to pursue their entrepreneurial venture. They have the flexibility to return, after two-three years, for placement through our Career Services.

International Exchange ProgrammesWe have partnerships with over 100 top management schools in the world. Through exchange programmes, our students have the option of spending one term at the partner school and receive full academic credit. This exchange network also results in a large cohort of international students spending a term on our campus.
