Wasp VideoPerformance Video
Wasp Video is a collaborative creative team of filmmakers, editors and writers from the rain soaked north west of England.
The performance video is one of the earliest and most established forms of music video. It’s ability to capture a band’s live energy is unprecedented and keeps the video’s focus on the song itself by staying with the band’s performance.
Whilst being focused on the band and their performance, there are endless creative avenues that can be explored within the performance video.
Our experienced team of four have an extensive background in feature films, television and
music videos. We are renowned for creating projects that reflect our passion, commitment and
enthusiasm for effective storytelling across multiple genres.
OVERVIEW
Using cinematography, lighting, projection, and editing, a simple studio space can be transformed to express any visual style or vibe you’re wanting to portray.
OVERVIEW
Wasp Video have an extensive knowledge of the performance video built up over the last eight years, and from it have pulled a diverse range of styles, aesthetics and tones.
PREVIOUS WORK
SLY DIGS
Wasp’s work with SlyDigs is always focused on portraying the band’s rock and roll ethos. The resulting videos have a warm, vintage aesthetic, achieved through cinematography and lighting. This is then heightened through energetic editing to give the videos pace and movement.
DAVID O’DOWDA
Using a natural, clean lighting arrangement and gentle camera movements, Wasp created a subtle video for David O’Dowda’s ‘Mountains’ that gave the band space to deliver the song.
OLYMPIAN (FEATURING BADLY DRAWN BOY)
Capturing Olympian’s “Kill the Lights, Suzanne” (featuring Badly Drawn Boy), Wasp created a mellow and naturalistic video, using a homely location and shooting handheld, close-up shots, resulting in a piece that feels intimate and involving.
PREVIOUS WORK
Wasp Video enjoy creating fast-paced, high-energy videos for bands such as Sinnergod and Order of Voices, allowing the powerful music to dictate the video’s high-contrast and frenetic cinematography and editing.
