LIVE-EDGE CONSTRUCTIONHarden’s solid wood live-edge tables are constructed using native hardwood species — you may choose from Adirondack black cherry, black walnut, curly maple or wormy maple. Each has their own unique characteristics, underlying colortones and textures.

Logs are specially selected and are custom-milled on-site at the Harden sawmill. Flitches are sorted for size, color and character to provide the optimal combination for every top.

We use only top quality logs in the construction of our live-edge tables. Tops are reinforced by steel channel irons that are attached underneath the top. All tops of this thickness and natural origin are prone to small checks and season splits, particularly at the ends. Knots will be evident and are considered part of the natural characteristic of the wood.

BASE OPTIONSFive base styles allow you to choose exactly the right design for your project. If a custom length top is selected, the base size will be adjusted accordingly.

TOP OPTIONSSTANDARD — 80" wide x 44" deep x 30" high is standard for all Cabinetmaker’s Cherry Custom Tables, including the Live-Edge Program.

CUSTOM SIZES — Custom sizes are available by the inch, up to a maximum size of 120" wide x 50" deep. If a custom size top is selected, the base size will be adjusted accordingly.

Note: Oval Shaped Tops are available in the Custom Size Program — Square Edge is required.

Edge FinishesHarden offers two options for edge finishing—

• contrast edge or

• no contrast edge

Contrast Edge preserves the natural color contrast of the sapwood edge band —the specified color is applied only to the interior of the table.

No Contrast Edge produces a uniform color top with no edge contrast.

OTHER OPTIONSWood Bow Tie InlaysPrior to the development of modern adhesives, cabinetmakers often applied bow tie cleats to strengthen glue joints or to secure season splits. If you choose to have them installed, we suggest a bow tie inlay in a contrasting species (i.e. maple on walnut, or walnut on cherry). Please specify number of requested inlays.

Stainless Steel Bow Tie InlayAn interesting option is substituting stainless steel for the more traditional contrasting wood species.

Stainless Steel Name PlateA 5" diameter stainless steel plate can be engraved with your name and inlaid into the center of your table.

FINISH OPTIONSAll Harden cherry, maple and walnut finishes are available — please refer to page XX for species-specific finish options. A catalyzed lacquer is applied for additional surface protection.
