MY DOORDASH JOURNEY - Strategy & Operations
LaunchGrowing DD footprint from 800 to 4,000 cities in 10 months
Consumer Strategy & OperationsIncreasing retention of customers through gamification
Australia, Head of ConsumerLaunching first country outside of North America
Pickup, Head of ConsumerGrowing customer engagement on new DoorDash products
FUTURE OF DOORDASHFounding MissionEnable every merchant to deliver.
Looking AheadContinue pursuing that mission, while addressing specific cx segments needs, which leads us to college
CollegesOpportunity size: 20MM college studentsGoal: Reach over 50% market share of college student spend on food.
Sample Hypothesis:By creating an integration with colleges, Doordash would enable college students to spend their university meal plan points on DoorDash, which will redefine what the college dining experience looks like in the post-COVID world and will act as a highly efficient cx engagement and acquisition channel.
Sample Opportunity Sizing:There are ~20MM students enrolled in universities, and we estimate ~1.7B meals are eaten on campus during a full academic year with a university provided meal-plan, meaning that these meals would be purely incremental to DoorDash.
If DoorDash were to partner with enough colleges to reach 500k students, DoorDash could generate 10MM incremental orders per year.
