Measuring results

As result of this first trimester, ending with the Second International Council of Presidents celebrated last Saturday, October 5 online via WebEx, we can see that the membership has a substantial increase of 3.4%. Since the fundraising indicator is accumulative and it’s compared against the fundraising total of the previous period, it indicates that we have 8% of the total funds raised in the 2012-2013 period. In total coverage, there is a significant advance with a growth of 30% and in spot coverage we can see an increase of 3%. We already have 3 new clubs chartered which are the Active 20-30 Club of Durham-Raleigh #1045, the Active 20-30 Club of Portland #122 and the Active 20-30 Club of Cañas in Costa Rica. We continue working hard to consolidate a new country in Active 20-30, which will possibly be Ecuador. Regards, Pablo Felipe Quintero Serna President Active 20-30 International

20-30 If you don’t participate, you don’t exist This applies to all members who don’t attend their club meetings regularly, that aren’t motivated or interested in forming part of the many committees or work projects in their club, in their national association or the international organization itself. I have frequently heard from members when they don’t attend meetings regularly how easily they say “I have been tied-up (busy), work is absorbing all my time, the family, the business, etc. These expressions or situations could be valid in some cases, but in other cases they are most likely just screens that hide a cruel and true reality: they are not very attracted in serving their community and develop themselves under the objectives, principals and ideas of Active 20-30.

They have an excuse for everything, they don’t organize their personal works or commitments, they don’t have the minimal interest for the club activities, but only the ones that are fun, involve drinking and personal pleasure. They don’t want to sacrifice the time of particular pleasure or of individual interest, for events of collective benefit or interest. They show selfishness, coldness and myopia on a collective present and future. In some occasions, they are so limited that they can’t see, feel or understand the special pleasure and the enjoyable satisfaction that comes from serving others through Club Activities, particularly to unprotected, abandoned, ignored and sacrificed children, by whom?...By the same society of which we are part of. Collectivity that is relatively easy to maintain children that are humble, abandoned, ignored, sacrificed, humiliated and enslaved by our selfishness, our apathy and particular interests, combined with the ignorance in which we live and the hardness of our heart and as an incredible echo of cowardice and lack of values and human feelings. But well, there is always balance in life, like it or not, arising out of this world incredible ice and collective apathy; different people arise and stand, extraordinary human beings, visionaries, courageous and amazing people; determined and convinced that they may be different and indeed are called to make a difference, are committed under their own beliefs, feelings and ideals to build programs, initiatives and proposals towards a collective benefit in favor of better times and lifetimes for humans lacking in most occasions the most basic that a human being needs in life: attention, respect for their dignity, respect for their rights, life opportunities and something that is elementary and when it’s received it completely changes your feel and value for life. A contribution that we are all able to give and it’s very simple and motivating as it is “LOVE”…do you know about it?, do you like to receive it?, do you know what it means? Well, if so this is what we have to express, project, practice, spread. I congratulate all men and women who have the ability to feel and project LOVE and the interest in improving the environment of poverty, ignorance, neglect and pain of so many men, women and children living in our big house, our city. I congratulate all Active 20-30 members who feel and live truthfully the spirit of service and solidarity, which with its clean, pure and selfless action gives value to the objectives of our beloved Active 20-30 International ORGANIZATION. I congratulate everyone, with sincerity, for feeling LOVE for the things they do and feel when living a beautiful and particular life experience, being an Active 20-30. 20-30 Educating in Active 20-30

In Active 20-30, we work for the education and the personal growth of our members. The Dominican Republic and Colombia associations carried out activities aimed at strengthening the knowledge of our members. Lifetime member Manuel Molina toured much of Colombia in a week where he shared his knowledge with members from the Barranquilla, Medellin, Manizales, Pereira, Armenia and Palmira Clubs, ending his trip in Cali with an Active 20-30 gathering where he met with lifetime members Luis Fernando Lian (Colombia), Juan McKay (Panama) and Gustavo Gnecco (Colombia).

Thanks to social networks, we frequently see the fundraising, camaraderie and children activities carried out by each Club of our Organization. This tool has opened the borders between our Associations and strengthened the friendship bonds among members. Also, we have seen that the benefits of the internet allow us to be present worldwide and can receive assistance from any person no matter what country they are. That’s why our publications should be clear messages, with images that tell stories, that reflect the values that characterize us and the reasons that make us live Active 20-30 intensely. We have the power in our hands and good use of this will ensure the success of our social work.
