TRIUMPH OF THE CROSS PARISH COMMUNITY NEWS
IMMACULATE HEART FUND COLLECTION:
In your packet is an envelope that has this title on it. Some have asked, “What is this?” This is a Diocesan Fund that stu-
dents from our Catholic Schools can receive tuition assistance. The Register publishes each year the amounts distributed.
The needs remain greater than the amount that can be distributed from this fund.
What is the tuition rate for our Catholic Schools in Steubenville? This is part of the Tuition Chart. The rates for out-of-
parish students and Non-Catholic students are higher.
In- Parish Catholic Rates
Triumph of the Cross parish is committed to our families and will also provide tuition assistance after the family has applied
for assistance from all other scholarship programs that are offered. We endeavor to deny no parent the ability to provide
for their children the religious formation program that they choose – Catholic Schools or PSR programs.

You Are Invited to a Farewell Reception for Father
Bartholomew Ogumelu: Fr. Bartholomew is from Nigeria and
has been living in the rectory at Holy Name Cathedral, attending Franciscan University and celebrating liturgies for
Triumph of the Cross Parish since 2011. He has completed his studies at Franciscan and is moving. There will be a
reception held for him on October 4, 2015 in the Marian Room at Holy Rosary after the 10:00 am Mass. Light re-
freshments will be served. Please come to help us thank Fr. Bart for being a joyful presence in our parish community
and to send him off with prayers and good wishes.
CONGRATULATIONS: On the feast day of Triumph of the Cross Parish we had the joy of celebrating with the Sisters of
the Family of Jacopa Association. During the evening Mass Sr. Kathleen Marshall made her 1st Temporary Vow as a Sister of
Jacopa, received her habit and her new name in Religion as Sister Rose Catherine of The Triumph of the Cross. She now is
the Mother Superior of this association dedicated to the service of widows.
After the Mass Sr. Ellen received the holy habit and celebrated her Novice ceremony. She received her name in religion.
Sr. Pia Teresa of the Blessed Sacrament.
This was possible through Bishop Monforton approving their petition to be a Public Association of the Christian Faithful. He
also made their Monastery a Marian Shrine. They are the Mary, Ark of the Covenant Monastery and will have the beautiful
statute of Mary, Ark of the New Covenant and Icon picture. They will be a pro-life shrine and place for mothers, women and
families to come who want to pray and receive healing for the death of their children through natural causes, miscarriage
and abortion. We are delighted to continue seeing the mighty love of Christ guiding his people in their vocations and lives
seeking holiness. As the Lord has blessed, may our prayers for one another be filled with Thanksgiving.

CONDOLENCES (CCC 1405) “There is no surer pledge or clearer
sign of this great hope in the new heavens and new
earth ‘in which righteousness dwells,’ than the
Eucharist. Every time this mystery is celebrated,
‘the work of our redemption is carried on’ and we
‘break the one bread that provides the medicine of
immortality, the antidote for death, and the food
that makes us live forever in Jesus Christ.’” With
this great hope we pray for our sister who has
died:
Dorothy A. McDonough, 89, September 7
May she enjoy the eternal banquet the Lord
has prepared for her.
PARISH PRAYER: LORD, we desire that our prayers be
heard according to your will. Grant that our parish may be
united in heart, mind, and spirit; may your love be in our
hearts and we become the parish You have envisioned for
us. O Lord, open the eyes of our hearts to see the face of
Christ in each other. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
