I recently received the following thank you letters for a recent Dea-con George Social Justice Fund donation to the Children's Healing Center: "Dear Father George, On behalf of our families at the Children's Healing Center we would like to thank you for your generous donation. We will use this money wisely and spend it on programs for our members. In two weeks we have our Spring Break camps. Our children cannot go away for the holiday, but they can come play at our safe, germ-free facility. What a blessing your Church, Blessed Sacrament is to us. Thanks again, Deb and the CHC Staff"

and

"Dear Fr. George Darling and Blessed Sacrament Parish, We want to express our appreciation for your gift of $2,000. We are grateful for your generosity and thoughtfulness! Since opening our doors in 2015, we have welcomed over 615 members resulting in a whopping 201,749 minutes of play. That's a lot of giggles, games, art projects and fun! Our programming has seen incredible growth as we continue to fill a gap in the continuum of care available to kids with compromised immune systems. One parent says, 'we loved our first day. It's a great place to bring siblings - my active and healthy two-year-old had spent the greater part of the last 8 months being isolated. I wish we could've found it sooner. Our days revolved around hospital visits and it will be good to add something fun to our schedule.' With your support, we continue our mission in giving kids with weak immune systems a clean, safe place to play. With Gratitude, Melissa Black and the Children's Healing Center Family" As we have come to the end of the month of March we have also come to the end of the third quarter of our present fiscal year. That means it is once again time to distribute the tithing funds. If you would like to nominate a charity to be the recipient of a grant remember that it must be an organization that is involved outside of the Parish in the works of social justice, and it cannot be involved in any type of activity which is contrary to the teachings or practices of the Roman Catholic Church. Applications for nominations can be found in the stewardship tower in the Church narthex, on the Parish web site, or contact Lori in the Parish Office and she can provide you with one either by email, U.S. Postal Mail, or you can pick up one in person from her. The deadline for nominations will be Sunday, April 29.
