“Little Miss Sunflower” is the girl who puts the sun in sunflowers! Designing the

pattern was a feel-good experience as all elements of the design are things I like - fall

colors, a house, and a cute little girl.

Sunflowers are one of my favorite!

This is the very first time I have used a check fabric for a design and I love how it turned out! My model stitcher Milly said there was a little learning curve but once she got into the rhythm the stitching went quickly. The design is a mixture of overdyed thread and DMC which looks great with the fabric from Weeks Dye Works. The fabric I used was Gingham Straw in 28 count. The

frame is from Crescent Colors. Look at the corners. . . .they look like the sunflowers in the design!! This frame also can be ordered in black if you like a darker look. The supply list will be

posted on the LHN web site some time next week.

Ornament # 9 is a two in one pattern! What you see on the cover is a wonderful snow-covered pine tree with a small cardinal. What you see in the chart is a

second version which includes a sheep. It will be your choice how to stitch the design.

Vonna stitched this ornament and finished it as a pocket using Weeks Dye Works wool. It’s simple and easy and you all can do it! Fill the pocket with a sprig of berries like she did or stuff it with tiny treats or

cinnamon potpourri. If filling with potpourri, be sure to line the pocket to

prevent the oils from staining the wool.

Winter or fall. . . we have them all!! A sweet stitcher wrote to me last month and said how much she appreciated seeing a few older patterns in the last newsletter to remind her of what was available. If you go to our web site you can see we have two pages that carry patterns for this time of year. The first is titled “Autumn” and the second is called “Winter & Holiday”. Our thread packs are not on

these pages and we DO have a lot of seasonal ones to choose from! See page three of the newsletter to view a sampling.

Autumn Band SamplerAutumn Band SamplerAutumn Band SamplerAutumn Band Sampler

At LONG last we finally have another band sampler for you. When the requests came pouring in for me to do three

more seasons after having done the winter one I just couldn’t refuse! Being a fall fanatic, this one for me is my

very favorite of the two.

The design uses overdyed threads on Lakeside Linen’s 28 count Vintage Buttercream linen.

The frame is from Eastside Mouldings and matches the one

used in the Winter Band Sampler.

In 2012 we will bring you both the spring and summer charts.

This chart along with our other two shown in the newsletter will be available in shops close to the end of the month or

around the beginning of October.

Thank you for stitching this Rita!
