What is our call? In the church and in a Christian society, the answer
isn’t clear. In a multicultural society, the issue of vocation is coupled
with another question, which more and more people are asking: Why
Christ rather than some other spiritual figure? That makes the task more
complicated. Can this reality push us to rediscover the radical aspect of
proclaiming faith in Christ, who reveals, as an initial vocation, a path to
happiness for all people?

Today’s readings paint a somewhat frightening
picture of the end of time. But the Gospel ends
with the assurance to faithful stewards that
those who persevere will be saved.
Vocation View
Patient endurance will see you through to the end. God
will give you the wisdom and the words to speak. What
is holding you back from a wholehearted “yes”?
(Luke 21:5-19)
Offering of the Mass
By virtue of the “communion of saints,” the Church
commends the dead to God’s mercy and offers her
prayers especially the holy sacrifice
of the Eucharist, on their behalf.
(Catechism of the Catholic Church.) This
practice dates as far back as Judas
collecting a sin-offering for the
dead, making an atonement so that
they might be delivered from their sin. (2 Maccabees 12:39-
45). Masses may also be offered for the intentions of the
living or in thanksgiving. Masses may be requested
through the parish office.
Food Drive
Donations of food are being collected this weekend for two
families in our parish, Marian Centre and Visitation House.
All contributions are welcome. Thank you for
sharing your treasure with those around you.
All are appreciative of what they receive from
us. Please be mindful that we do not accept packaging that has
been opened or items that are partially used.
Little Flower CWL Memberships
This is a reminder to all members that your membership fee
is now due. Please place it in an envelope marked: CWL
Membership and place it in the Sunday collection basket.
Please be sure to include your name along with the fee in-
side the envelope.
Year of Mercy
Pray for mercy. Pray to become more merciful. Pray
also for family members, friends, neighbours, co-workers,
and people who are in need of mercy. Pray for people
who have hurt you. Pray for people around the world
who are suffering. Pray that everyone in the world will
respond to God’s mercy and, in turn, be merciful to one
another.
How will you pray for mercy,
and for whom will you pray?
