Theme: God calls us to dare to do the unreasonable. God himself gives us an example of unreasonableness.
Doesn’t he make the sun shine down on bad and good alike? Doesn’t his Son, Jesus, forgive the very people
who put him to death? God’s unreasonable ways are not yet our ways because we are afraid to risk living and
loving intensely.

Feed the Hungry
The Corporal Works of Mercy are found in the teachings of
Jesus and give us a model for how we should treat all others,
as if they were Christ in disguise. They “are charitable ac-
tions by which we help our neighbours in their bodily
needs” (USCCA) The corporal works of mercy consist espe-
cially in feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, clothing
the naked, visiting the sick and imprisoned, and burying the
dead. Catechism of the Catholic Church

PRAYER MINISTRY
Please pray for the needs of the sick
of our parish, the homebound, those
in nursing homes and those who care
for them, especially: Marlene Baker,
Alfred Boehme, Anton & Catherine
Fahlman, John Fahlman, Fr. Marcel George, Andrew
Helmeczi, Dean Hutchence, Mary Kish, Fr. Ken Koep,
Fr. Norm Marcotte, Thomas & Theresa Periyilkatte,
Hans Reisinger, Claudia Sali, Fr. Art Vandendriessche,
Kathleen Wingerter and Louise Wingerter. Please
remember the repose of John Quichuk and Alvin
Wiesner. Please also, keep in your prayers all who are
grieving the death of a loved one.
Jesus tells the crowd that only those who renounce all of
their possessions can be His disciples. Is He truly
asking us to give up everything? Perhaps instead
He is trying to help us see that everything we
think we own is really a gift from God. Good
stewards know that and strive to use those gifts
accountably.
Vocation View
You have one precious life to give. How do you choose to
offer it to God? Are you willing to accept the challenges
of discipleship? (Luke 14:25-33)

One of the most powerful reasons to induce us to love
God is the conviction we enjoy that he loves us.
SAINT LOUISE DE MARILLAC
Year of Mercy The Lord keeps faith forever;
executes justice for the oppressed;
gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets the prisoners free.
Psalm 146:6-7
Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia
Think About It
Elder abuse and neglect is already a problem in society.
This abuse and neglect could eventually include pressure
to request euthanasia or assisted suicide, thus becoming
the duty to die.

the Most Holy Trinity as the key to bringing the faith
from our heads to our hearts and into our lives. This
study is transforming and enlightening! Then put your
faith into action with group works of Mercy. Holy Trin-
ity Parish, 5020 Sherwood Drive, Regina. For more info
or to register, call Phyllis (949-1709) or Brenda (530-
1412). A Hearts Afire Program.
Offering of the Mass
By virtue of the “communion of saints,” the Church com-
mends the dead to God’s mercy and offers her prayers
especially the holy sacrifice of the Eucharist, on their be-
half. (Catechism of the Catholic Church.) This practice dates
as far back as Judas collecting a sin-offering for the dead,
making an atonement so that they might be delivered
from their sin. (2 Maccabees 12:39-45). Masses may also be
offered for the intentions of the living or in thanksgiving.
Masses may be requested through the parish office.
Acts: the Spread of the Kingdom
This is another of the Great Adventure DVD series with
talks by Jeff Cavins. If you’ve ever wondered what Acts
is really about, how the Early Church relates to our
Church today or about your role in the Kingdom of
God? Then join us for this Bible study which explores
the story of the Early Church in light of the Holy Spirit
and demonstrates how this story is important for all Dis-
ciples of Christ. Enrich and deepen your faith. Learn
how the Church accomplishes the monumental task of
teaching, preaching, healing and restoring outcasts with
the Holy Spirit working with and through Her, and how
you are also called to participate in the Kingdom of
God. The Acts provides us with more than a history of
the First Christians - it is the story about the Early
Church with the Holy Spirit as the protagonist. Christ did
not leave His Apostles alone - He sent the Holy Spirit to
guide, instruct and equip them. Enrich and deepen your
faith as you learn how the Apostles continued Christ’s
mission on earth through the Power of the Holy
Spirit. Join us at Holy Trinity Parish, 5020 Sherwood
Drive, Regina beginning Sunday September 25 at 7:00
pm or Thursday, September 29 at 1:00 pm. More info or
to register, call Brenda 530-1412.
Learn to let others do their share of the work. Things may
be done less well, but you will have more peace of soul and
health of body. And what temporal interest should we not
sacrifice in order to gain these blessings?
SAINT ROSE PHILIPPINE DUCHESNE
