Little Bear

Little Bear knew she was special.

She could feel it in her skin.

Little Bear felt it most when she kept watch as her Protector slept each night.

Feeling special wasn’t enough for Little Bear. She wanted to know why she felt this way.

However, because she had no way of finding out, all she could do was to wait patiently and have faith that, one day, she would find

out.

Then, Little Bear saw a picture of her Protector when she was a baby and knew instantly why she was special. She could feel it in

her skin!

You see, Little Bear was made from the old, discarded quilts that had been used to stuff the mattress on which her Protector slept

as a baby.

At long last, Little Bear understood the generations of love that made her special, and she spent many more nights contentedly

guarding her Protector while she slept.
