Literature Review

Nowadays, a huge number of fresh graduates are facing difficulties in the term of reading,

speaking and writing skills. Fresh graduates have no intelligence when they are come out from university

and they do not have any skill to show in the working time. Qualities do employers look for fresh

graduates has two skills that are soft skills and hard skills. But they look both of skills to find quality

among fresh graduates. The most common quality employers look among fresh graduates are

interpersonal or communication skill. They are not achieving something new when they are come out

from college or university. So, today many employers concerned about best qualities among fresh

graduates. According to Syafie (2010) The employees not just look the reading, speaking and writing skill

but they also look for higher order thinking skills like learning, reasoning, thinking creatively, decision

making and problem solving. Even though company and organization give priorities to candidate with

good hard skill, they also were searching for soft skill. Besides that, the employers also look for the team

work, responsibility, time management, hardworking and have high self-esteem.

Fresh graduated must have ability to speak in proper English because English language is an

international language. Based on the researcher Singh and Choo (2012) the company and corporate

world considers English language as an international language and fresh graduates must have this ability

to good command in English to enable them can communicate very well with all level of staffs.

Communicate skill includes speaking, writing and reading. These skills were described to active skill and

passive skills. Communication is a one way to interact in our environment. According to Singh and Choo

(2012) Communication can be reflects our personality, our though and can improve our knowledge.

Besides, communication is a vital for successful participation of work. Good listening skills very

important because it related between reading and speaking.

According to Lowdon, Hall, Elliot and Lewin (2011) everyone must have employability skills

especially fresh graduated who want to get a job. There are have several skills such as using proper

language like writing clearly and in a way appropriate to the context, ordering facts and concepts

logically. Besides, they must know how to working in one team and communicate very well in each other

such as being responsible to others and speaking. However, nowadays most of them are not aware

about these current phenomena ( Syafie, 2010). Fresh graduates must have involved new environment

such as business environment and workplaces demand.
