The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme is the largest dog training scheme in the UK. Its aim is to promote responsible dog ownership and in turn, enhance our relationship with our pets and to make the community aware of the benefits associated with dog ownership.Whether you are a sole trainer or have a group of instructors at your dog training club, provided you are prepared to host regular Good Citizen Dog Scheme

Training Courses and subsequent testing sessions, the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Listed Status is an ideal way of supporting responsible dog ownership as part of a nationally

recognised syllabus. The Listed Status Scheme does not require

annual accounts or other related committee paperwork.

Other activities available to listed status clubs

More details of the GCDS can be found at www.thekennelclub.org.uk/dogtraining

AgilityAgility is a comparatively new form of dog competition, where the animal’s fitness and the handler’s ability to train and direct the dog over and through certain obstacles are tested.

Rally Rally is a canine sport derived from the heelwork elements of competitive Obedience. It involves the handler and their dog working as a team to navigate a course with numbered signs indicating different exercises to perform.

Heelwork to MusicHeelwork to Music (HTM) is a relatively recent competitive activity in which participants devise routines of up to four minutes, set to music, and perform the routines with their dog. HTM is divided into two categories - Heelwork to Music and Freestyle - and most shows stage official classes in both categories.

More details about Activities can be found at www.thekennelclub.org.uk/activities

Other disciplines soon to be added.
