NUCLEUS: READ THE PASSAGE •  The nucleus contains the PROTONS and

the NEUTRONS.

•  It is the MOST DENSE part of the atom even though its diameter compared to the size of the atom is TINY!

•  The nucleus determines the MASS of the atom, because the protons and the neutrons each weigh 1 atm (atomic mass unit).
