    Nighty Nightmare: Garfield eats Jon's pizza so he yells at Garfield and tells him after eating too much he will have a nightmare. Garfield does thatnight where he eats and grows giant. However, he gets fattened up into Thanksgiving dinner for planet Clarion.

    Banana Nose: The farm animals are annoyed by Roy's practical jokes and call him Banana nose, Roy gets upset and leaves the farm.

    Ode to Odie: Garfield tells a Poem by rapping about locking Odie out of the house with his favorite bone. Odie wanders off into an alleyway,where tough dogs hang out. Pooky appears in the beginning of this episode coloured yellow instead of brown.

    "Show 4" Fraidy Cat Shell Shocked Sheldon Nothing to Sneeze At October8,1988

    Fraidy Cat: Garfield watches a horror movie during a thunderstorm while Jon goes out shopping. The electricity goes out and Garfield thinks Jonwas captured by a monster.

    Shell Shocked Sheldon: Orson and Booker think it's time for Sheldon to come out of his shell, so Orson lays on him that night. Later, Orson gets asnack and a fox comes and kidnaps Sheldon.

    Nothing to Sneeze At: Jon asks Liz the vet out on a date while Garfield has an allergy. Liz thinks Jon is not caring much about him.

    Wade: You're Afraid Good Mouse-keeping October15,1988

    Garfield's Moving Experience: Garfield feels mistreated by Jon, so he decides to find himself a new home. A rich girl finds him and takes him toher giant manor.

    Wade: You're Afraid: The farm animals think it a good idea for Orson to hypnotize Wade into being the bravest duck in the world. But then thingsget out of hand when Wade makes fun of the farm's bull.

    Good Mousekeeping: A mouse named Floyd realizes Garfield does not chase mice, so he tells a whole mouse clan which invades Garfield's house.

    "Show 6" Identity Crisis The Bad Sport Up a Tree October22,1988

    Identity Crisis: Garfield finds Floyd in an alley with a dog being on the run by a dog catcher. The three decide to exchange their animal sounds,and so the dog catcher goes after Garfield.

    The Bad Sport: Everyone on the farm except for Roy decides to try a new game that Orson found in a book of group games. Roy decides to replacethe rules with his own version.

    Up a Tree: Nermal visits Garfield's house and Garfield gets jealous of the attention he gets. So Garfield decides to climb a tree.

    "Show 7" Weighty Problem The Worm Turns Good Cat, Bad Cat October29,1988

    Weighty Problem: Jon buys a new scale, which Garfield tampers with, causing the results to be inaccurate when Jon weighs himself. Jon decidesto go on a strict diet and exercise a lot.

    The Worm Turns: Orson tells the viewers a story of why Booker stopped chasing worms. Booker set a trap but got caught in it. The worm laterfrees Booker.

    Good Cat, Bad Cat: After Jon tells Garfield to leave the mailman alone due to an important package delivery. Garfield's good and evil sides appearand try to get Garfield to do naughty deeds and annoy the mailman.

    "Show 8" Cabin Fever Return of Power Pig Fair Exchange November5,1988

    Cabin Fever: Jon, Garfield, and Odie, vacation during the winter in a cabin. While Jon is out to buy groceries, Garfield and Odie are snowed insidethe cabin without nourishment. Garfield worries that this could be the end.

    Return of Power Pig: Orson reads Sheldon the nursery rhyme, "Humpty Dumpty." Sheldon thinks its a scary story and tells Booker. A rumor goesaround and concludes that there is a monster on the farm. Power Pig strikes back!

    Fair Exchange: Garfield and Jon both have dreams where they switch bodies after they argued earlier that one lives life easier than the other. Bothlearn that neither side has an easy life.

    "Show 9" The Binky Show Keeping Cool Don't Move November12,1988

    The Binky Show: Its Jon's birthday and Garfield has no money. To win Jon a present, Garfield goes on a game show titled "Name That Fish",which is hosted by Binky the Clown.

    Keeping Cool: Orson is terrified of the fact that his mean older brothers are visiting him, while Bo tells him not to worry about how they harm him.

    Don't Move: Garfield wanders into a fish shop to eat, and tells Odie to sit on the sidewalk and not move. Odie then gets caught by the dog catcher.

    "Show 10" Magic Mutt Short Story Monday Misery November19,1988

    Magic Mutt: When Jon is asked to perform a magic show at a children's hospital, he goes to a small emporium. The owner has a dog which chasesGarfield around.

    Short Story: Booker is tired of being short, while Orson's brothers try and steal the harvest crop. While the gang is on security duty, Booker is toldnot to get involved. But after they're trapped he finds a way to take advantage of his lack of height.

    Monday Misery: Garfield mails himself to Samoa to get away from Monday that has caused him misery. He eventually finds out that this country(or island) is many hours behind the time zone of his home in Muncie, Indiana.

    "Show 11" Best of Breed National Tapioca PuddingDay

    All About Odie November26,1988

    Best of Breed: When Garfield gets jealous of Nermal's awards, he enters a cat talent show, where he is up against Nermal coincidentally.

    National Tapioca Pudding Day: Roy makes a spring-loaded gift-box of tapioca pudding with which to trick the farm animals into opening for"National Tapioca Pudding Day", a fake holiday where tapioca pudding is given as a gift.

    All About Odie: At a university, Garfield presents a documentary-like presentation. Garfield shows his and Odie's fan mail, which shows Odie ismore liked than Garfield by fans. So Garfield does a documentary on all about Odie.

    "Show 12" Caped Avenger Shy Fly Guy Green Thumbs Down December3,1988

    Caped Avenger: While a cartoon expert comes to review some of Jon's characters, Garfield's alter ego the Caped Avenger searches for Pooky, whois missing.

    Shy Fly Guy: During the winter Fred Duck, Wade's cousin, visits the farm to ask Wade if they want to fly together, and finds humor in the fact thatWade is afraid to fly, so Wade makes a resolution to fly during the end of the winter.

    Green Thumbs Down: Jon decides it's a good idea for them to grow their own food in the garden after noticing the high grocery bills.

    "Show 13" Forget Me Not I Like Having YouAround!

    Sales Resistance December10,1988

    Forget Me Not: Garfield is hit in the head with a pie tin, and suffers from amnesia. His personality is completely reversed, Jon is especiallyconcerned when Garfield asks who everyone is and does not know his own name and even turns down lasagna.

    I Like Having You Around!: Orson is writing an extract in his diary, from about two weeks ago, about Bo leaving the farm after fighting with hissister Lanolin.

    Sales Resistance: Garfield has gotten into a habit of ordering things over the phone from infomercials. After buying another expensive useless item(a Leonardo da Vinci statue made out of elbow pasta), Jon threatens that if he buys one more worthless item off TV, he will no longer be fedlasagna. When Jon leaves, Garfield struggles to stay away from a salesman who wants him to buy a free elephant repeller.

    Season 2 (1989)Starting with this season, the show was expanded to an hour-length format, allowing six episodes to air each week.The closing credits background was changed to feature Garfield's face, between Jon's and Odie's, which are betweenthose of the U.S. Acres characters, against a blue background. Episodes 1424 can be found on the Garfield andFriends: Volume 1 DVD set, while the rest are on the Garfield and Friends: Volume 2 set.

    "Show 14" Pest of a Guest The Impractical Joker Fat and Furry September16,1989

    Pest of a Guest: During the winter, a greedy cat that appears to be on his death bed is welcomed into Jon's home, where Garfield gets jealous thatthis intruder will ruin his life, and is therefore determined to get rid of him.

    The Impractical Joker: Roy is banned from the farm after insulting all the animals with a joke book, and is replaced by Fred Duck.

    Fat and Furry: After Garfield buys a lottery ticket with the number 77777779, the crew win the lottery and become famous. They also get to staron "Lifestyles of the Fat and Furry", hosted by Robin Leach.

    "Show 15" Rip Van Kitty Grabbity The Big Catnap September16,1989

    Rip Van Kitty: At the park, all Garfield wants to do is eat, harass Nermal, and nap. Jon says he has had it with Garfield's sloth, and he can sleep aslong as he wants. Garfield is pleased to hear this, and wakes up 20 years later (2009) in a futuristic universe, as an elderly version of himself and isgreeting by an aged Odie and elderly Jon. He finds that the future isn't all it's cracked up to be (at least his interpretation of it), and things get worsewhen Zizzabottawaddawaddaboinkboinkfreeb attacks Earth, whose inhabitants sleep 23 hours a day and use the remaining time to eat everything insight. But the final straw comes when Garfield, hoping to see an ugly decrepit Nermal, still finds a young, cute kitten, causing Garfield to wish hehad not slept so long.

    Grabbity: Roy plays a prank on Wade, who wonders what would happen if the Law of Gravity (or "Grabbity" as Roy pronounced it) was repealed.Orson then explains what would really happen and Roy is glad that his TV newscast was phony. Cameo appearance of Jon.

    The Big Catnap: Jon's mother sends him a box of homemade cookies, and tries to avoid Garfield, who eats them every year they are delivered.Every year, Garfield pulls elaborate pranks to steal them.

    "Show 16" The Great Getaway Scrambled Eggs Hansel and Garfield September23,1989

    The Great Getaway: Jon visits New York City, on a weekend away from his cat Garfield. But Garfield realizes that Jon's date, Roselyn, is apickpocket! Can Garfield spill the beans to Jon, or will Feldman from the FBPP have to do it?

    Scrambled Eggs: Orson tells the audience a previous event about Sheldon and how he was mistaken for a mother turtle's child, who, like Sheldon,was not hatched yet and his legs are sticking out.

    Hansel and Garfield: Garfield tells Nermal his twist on the story of Hansel and Gretel, but it still largely holds true to the original fairy tale, whichNermal hates due to the violence.

    "Show 17" The Sludge Monster Fortune Kooky Heatwave Holiday September23,1989

    The Sludge Monster: Jon, Garfield, and Odie are forced to stay in an old and abandon hotel after his car breaks down in front of it, where he tellsGarfield and Odie the legend of the Sludge Monster, whom Garfield and Odie believe is real.

    Fortune Kooky: Wade become superstitious after reading their paper fortunes from Chinese fortune cookies. The worst being Roy's prank onWade.

    Heatwave Holiday: During an especially hot summer day, Garfield decides to think in cold ways, first creating a blizzard with the ice machine inthe freezer, then decorating the house for Christmas, where he causes a trend in the city of decorating for Christmas in the middle of July.

    "Show 18" One Good Fern DeservesAnother

    Goody-Go-Round The Black Book September30,1989

    One Good Fern Deserves Another: A nearly blind greenhouse salesman accidentally sells Jon a meat-eating fern after Garfield destroys all theferns at his house. Can Garfield withstand this plant just in time for Attack of the Giant Pod People?

    Goody-Go-Round: Bo needs a record player so he can listen to some music, and Orson sets out to find him one for being such a good friend, wherea chain reaction is put in effect after the giver wants something in return, with some catastrophic results.

    The Black Book: Jon is going on a date with one of his girlfriends, until he thinks that she already has one, so he tells Garfield to hide his blackbook of women's phone numbers.

    "Show 19" The Legend of the Lake Double Oh Orson Health Feud September30,1989

    The Legend of the Lake: Garfield hosts a tour of the national cat museum where the main attraction is a historical lake and Garfield tells a poemabout it.

    Double oh Orson: Orson reads a fictional spy story, and his imagination turns him into "Double-oh-Orson!" A parody of the James Bond filmThunderball. Also featured are "Pinfeather" (Roy), "W" (Wade), "The Countless Lanolin" (Lanolin), and a frozen Bo. Can Double-oh-Orson stopthe top-secret highly-experimental thermonuclear exploding grelbin device before it's too late?

    Health Feud: Garfield takes revenge on a stereotypical TV health/fitness show host after he finds out that he ruins Jon's life by his instructions.

    "Show 21" The Lasagna Zone Sleepytime Pig Yojumbo October7,1989

    The Lasagna Zone: Jon buys a new TV satellite dish, and when Garfield spills lasagna on its surface, he is transported into the shows. Cameos ofBooker and Sheldon.Title Reference: The Twilight Zone.

    Sleepytime Pig: Since the Sandman's substitute forgot to make Orson go to sleep, Orson is tired during the day, causing the animals to help him getrest.

    Yojumbo: Jon and Liz go on a date where they run into a bully and Jon feels like a wimp. He then decides to take karate lessions, so he can standup to the bully with his skills.

    "Show 22" Pros and Cons Rooster Revenge Lights! Camera!Garfield!

    October14,1989

    Pros and Cons: After being assigned to buy groceries, Odie is cheated out of his money by an alley cat, who trades an old sock in for Odie'sgrocery money.

    Rooster Revenge: After pulling several pranks on Orson, he decides to get revenge on Roy. He fears that Orson is planning a revenge prank onhim, despite Orson's statement that he would not.

    Lights! Camera! Garfield!: Garfield accepts a job as a movie stunt double after he thinks that he will be famous with larger roles.

    "Show 23" Polecat Flats Hogcules Brain boy October14,1989

    Polecat Flats: Jon takes Garfield to a dude ranch called "Polecat Flats", where Garfield learns how life is lived on the ranch, while wondering whata polecat is. First appearance of Cactus Jake. Cameo appearance of Roy.

    Hogcules: Orson tells Booker and Sheldon the myth of Hercules. Roy tells him his brothers are coming to visit and then Orson falls asleep,wondering what being Hercules would be like.

    Brain Boy: Garfield is framed for destruction by Rosco, a polite and clever son of Jon's cousin, who turns out to be cruel.

    "Show 24" Maine Course No Laughing Matter Attack of the MutantGuppies

    October21,1989

    Maine Course: A lady from an aquarium sends Jon an alive lobster to cook, though Jon, Garfield, and Odie befriend it as a family member andname him Therm.

    No Laughing Matter: After Roy annoys the farm animals with a new joke book, aliens who lack a sense of humor visit the farm to destroycomedy, which the animals try to save with all of Roy's joke books.

    Attack of the Mutant Guppies: After hearing Garfield's story on giant radioactive mutant guppies, Nermal gets scared and can't go to sleep. SoGarfield tries to prove to Nermal that his fictional story about giant radioactive mutant guppies is false so he can sleep. However, it turns out to bereal. Note: Last episode on the Volume 1 DVD.

    "Show 25" Robodie First Aid Wade Video Victim October21,1989

    Robodie: A Mad Scientist kidnaps Odie to use him as a model for his cloning machine that makes toy robots. Later, Garfield mistakes one for Odie.

    First Aid Wade: Wade gets his foot hurt and thinks that Roy and Orson will perform surgery on it due to a Misunderstanding.

    Video Victim: Garfield and Jon make a bet that if Garfield can stop watching TV for 24 hours, he'll stop using the vacuum, in which annoysGarfield. He then finds it hard to live without viewing programs. Note: First episode on the Volume 2 DVD.

    Season 7 (1994)In this season, the show went back to airing one new episode a week, but stayed in the hour-length format, filling upthe second half-hour with episodes from the previous season and some of the prime-time specials from the 1980s.This entire season, along with the second half of season 6, is available on Garfield and Friends: Volume 5 DVD set.Also worth noting is that here, a new theme song was added that was written by J.R. Johnston and Neil Panton. Thetheme was sung by J.R. Johnston.
