Extracurricular Activities

• Gay Straight Alliance of Lakeside High School - I have been president of this group since 2011 and a member

since 2010. Our mission is to promote awareness, understanding, and equality for everyone, regardless of their

sexual orientation or gender identity. We hold weekly meetings that include discussions on LGBT topics, speaker

presentations, and off-site events such as the Atlanta AIDS Walk.

• Gay Straight Alliances of Atlanta - I founded this organization in 2011. I have thrice organized a 300 person-

strong group of Atlanta area GSAs to walk in the Atlanta Pride Parade with this group. Marching together in the

parade allows from kids from all over the city to get together and make new friends that they can understand and

accept.

• French Club of Lakeside High School - I have been the president of this group since 2013, was the secretary since

2012, and a member since 2010. Our mission is to promote the love of the French language and Francophone

cultures. We present monthly cultural activities such as dinners at Tunisian restaurants and Cirque du Soleil

shows.

• Tri-M Music Honor Society of Lakeside High School - I have been the vice-president of this group since 2013 and

a member since 2011. Our mission is to recognize students for their academic and musical achievements and to

provide leadership and service opportunities to young musicians.

• Drama Club of Lakeside High School - I have been a member of this group since 2010. I have held lead roles in

our musical theater productions of “The Music Man” and “Bye Bye Birdie”.

• International Thespian Society - I have been a member of this honor society since 2013. Our mission is to honor

student excellence in the theater arts.

• French National Honor Society - I have been a member of this honor society since 2012. Our mission is to

recognize students who excel in the French language.

• Religious Education of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta - I have been the president of this

group since 2013, was the vice-president since 2012, and a member since 2010. Our mission in to teach about our

faith, other faiths, and events that happen in the world around us to other high school students.

• Chaplain of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta - I have been a chaplain since 2012. I am charged

to provide emotional support, a listening ear, and sound advice to youth members of the congregation.

• Lakeside High School Viking Chorale - I have been a member of this performance group since 2011. We are the

top choir at my high school and perform concerts, community engagements, and do musical theater each year.

• Atlanta Young Singers of Callanwolde - I have been a member of this organization since 2005. Our mission is to

champion musical excellence, inspire artistic creativity, and promote personal growth in children and youth

through exemplary choral performance. It has played an integral part in my childhood, and many of my best

friendships and experiences have come from it.

Summer Experiences

• Studying in Montréal - I studied at a French school and stayed with a home-stay family for three weeks during

Summer 2013. It helped me to gain a broader world view and improve my French language skills.
