STAGE 2 EXCURSION - Last week Year 3 and 4 went to
Evans Head. It was a fun day for Year 3s and a great

Stage 3 Excursion
Our year 5&6 students travelled to Brisbane for an overnight excursion this week. They visited various sites in and around Brisbane to learn more about its history. The students had a fantastic time and were very well behaved. Thank you to the staff for supervising and organising this excursion.
School Swimming Scheme
Just a quick reminder to students in years 2&3 and any other student in years 4 to 6 who are not competent swimmers, the School Swimming Scheme commences on Monday 4 December for one week. Notes have been sent out and payments are now due at the office. Please contact your child’s teacher if you require a note. The cost is $30 for 10 lessons – this is a bargain for what is an invaluable life skill – water safety and being able to swim!
2018 Year 7 Transition Day
A reminder that the 2nd
Year 7 2018 transition day will be held on Tuesday 5th December. This is for year 6 students
attending the Rivers College (Lismore High, Richmond River High or Kadina High) in 2018. Students are to organise their transport to and from the High School in consultation with their parents or carers.
Presentation Assembly
Our annual presentation assembly will be held on Tuesday 12 December at Southern Cross University from 9 to 11am. Students will be transported to and from the venue by bus accompanied by teachers. Students are to wear their school uniform. Parents and guests are invited to attend and should make their way to the Y Block theatre at the University.
Year 6 Graduation
This very special occasion will also be held on Tuesday 12 December. It will be held in the function room called Zest which is above the indoor swimming pool at Southern Cross University. Year 6 students and families will celebrate the important milestone of completing their primary school education in readiness for High School. It promises to be an enjoyable night as we say farewell to our wonderful year 6 students.
Semester 2 Student Reports
The semester 2 student reports are currently being finalised and will be distributed during week 10.
Planning ahead for 2018
Please remember, to assist us in our planning, to notify the office as soon as possible if you are not returning to our school in 2018. In addition, if you are aware of new families intending to enrol at Lismore PS, please ask them to contact our school office to arrange a meeting with the principal. Having this information in advance will assist in a smooth start to the new school year.
Christmas Carols night
Our annual Christmas Carols night will be held on Wednesday 13 December in the school grounds. We will be joined by members of the Extension band which contains many ex-students of LPS. Students will lead the singing of carols and each stage will also perform a short item to keep you entertained. I have also heard that we may have a very special guest visiting during the night. The P&C will be operating the canteen with drinks and food available. I encourage you all to come along for a very enjoyable night.
End of Term
The school year officially finishes on Friday 15th December for students and Tuesday 19th December for some staff. Students are expected to attend school until the last day of term. If you are considering an early finish, you are obliged to apply for leave through the school.
Have a great week and an enjoyable term.
