Assurance of Learning - Teaching 2015-2016 - BIOL/PEHP 4099 Special Topics – Human Physiology Laboratory Techniques in Exercise Physiology; Collaboration with Dr. Sara Tallarovic, STEM Director – UIW and Department of Biology; Design and Deliver a new course Spring 2016; teaching in progress 2016 - "Advanced Human Physiology Laboratory Techniques”; funded; $17,210 2015 - Extended office hours and virtual office hours. To assure that students have access to me when there is a need, I conduct 10 office hours per semester; Virtual office hours are conducted Monday-Thursday from 6-8pm. Student can contact me via text or email and an immediate response is generated. I have found these extra hours and varied electronic access to me after regular business hours has assured learning when students are studying or have questions about class related matters.

"The Calculation of Torque Generated by a Swimmer’s Arm during the Free-Style

Swim Stroke" (SUBMITTED IN REVEIW: National Strength and Conditioning Journal). Calculating the forces generated by the arm of a swimmer has baffled scientists, fluid physicists, and swimmers for years. Many models indirectly calculate the forces of lift (FL) and drag (FD). These models use computer fluid dynamic (CFD) models and Bernoulli’s equation is the benchmark for these estimates and calculations.
