INTRODUCTION

Chris has had a love of sailing since he was just 7 years old. With beginnings in racing in Optimist class dinghies around Europe with his brothers, he started truly developing his commitment to a life on the sea

on a 40’ IMS racing class for over 5 years.

Chris has personal experience sailing in all waters around the Med and Caribbean and even in competitive racing across the Atlantic! He has Captained Charter Catamarans at 60’, 70’ and 80’ over numerous seasons in areas as diverse as the Red Sea and the British Virgin Islands. In terms of qualifications he holds a full RYA Yacht Master Ocean (Commercial Endorsement) and is a full PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

His passions, other than Sailing, are a love of all watersports from kite surfing to wake boarding.For all of his love of competitive sports Chris could not be a calmer person and is incredibly reliable on the open water and we couldn’t have asked for a better skipper, supported by full training in all aspects of safety at sea.

Lir is a Fountaine Pajot Victoria 67 Catamaran. She has been built and finished to the highest standards with luxurious, fully air-conditioned accommodation and pleasure sailing as a priority. She has also been equipped with a full range of leisure equipment for the use of the guests. This is all set off at night by her spectacular underwater lighting. Her crew have a wealth of experience supported by formal qualifications and they are multi lingual speaking English, Spanish, Italian and French. We believe that the combination of stunning destinations, a luxurious catamaran and our crew are the perfect combination to make all our guests experiences unforgettable.

Natalia has been involved in the service industry for most her working life growing up in her family’s restaurant business. Starting out as a masseur and sports therapist in Marbella, the next step she began

her life in sailing as a deckhand on a 55’ sailing boat in the Mediterranean and Caribbean.Her experience on yachts, since then, has continued to evolve, as have her qualifications in sailing and hospitality.

Holding a RYA Yacht Master Offshore and successfully completed courses in STCW 95 (basic safety and advanced passenger ships) plus her PADI skills, nutrition programmes, advanced cookery and food presentation courses, make her a great person to have on board.

A very highly rated chef from her previous experience on other yachts, charter guests will find Natalia a joy to be around.Her happy demeanour and her loving sociable side are impossible not to grow on you.

Christian and Natalia have been working together as a team on yachts since 2010. Both as a couple and a professional team onboard, you will have a great time with them!

Lir is a Fountaine Pajot design and has been fitted out as the Owners version, giving extra luxury to on board guests. This version offers a master suite on the port side and three VIP Guest Cabins on the starboard side.

Crew accommodation is forward on the port side. This forward area is dedicated to the essential running of Lir; not only having the crew quarters but also all the services and stores areas to support the day to day operations , including our on board washing machine , enabling us to deal with any minor clothing “emergencies” guests may have.

With a King Sized central bed, the owner’s suite is for guests who wish to make the most of luxury on their sailing holiday. With large storage capacity from cupboards to shelving and private access, guests have everything they need in their cabin. Within, the Owners Suite has its own saloon area, with a sofa, a large wardrobe and desk with bookshelves.

As mentioned all Cabins are en-suite, no exception here for the owner’s version. It is the largest of the bathrooms with two separate washbasins and a walk in shower accessed through a sliding glass door.

Each Guest Cabin is designed en suite with individually stylised bathrooms.The shower cabins all having sliding doors with electric fresh water marine toilets.

All three VIP cabins are on the starboard side on Lir and offer both privacy and luxury on a sailing holiday. Private

access for all of the cabins is from the interior of the yacht and all have en suite bathrooms to go with the

level of privacy desired by our guests. Each Guest Cabin has a queen size double bed and enough storage space to easily accommodate a couple whatever length of holiday

you desire.

The Saloon is accessed via a fully sliding door from the cockpit area with cabin entrances found leading off from the saloon. The ultra-chic and latest design galley in this area is very well equipped to enable the creation

of beautiful food to meet the needs of every guest. Among the equipment in the galley area are an Ice maker, an “American Fridge and Freezer”, Oven with a stainless steel hob with two stainless steel sinks and a commercial standard dishwasher. The ventilation from this cooking area is via a hood above the hob and two hatches which open to allow full ventilation.

The seating is large enough to accommodate all guests in a relaxing environment inside the yacht when needed, accompanying the 360 panoramic view around Lir. The chart table console is absolutely up to date with state of the art navigational equipment and an award winning electrical distribution system. Full satellite communications equipment and WiFi are available on board. For the guests’ further enjoyment, if ever needed, the Saloon area is equipped with a television, DVD player and full HiFi system

The central cockpit is on exactly the same level as the saloon and is accessed via the sliding doors opening up the interior of the yacht to create a beautiful entertainment area. It has a fixed teak table to seat up to ten people. This area also has a very large and very comfortable aft sunbed over the hidden access to the tender, with additional cushioned areas to sunbathe on either side.

The helm station allows for total control of the yacht from this one point with two seats and external helm, in the sun.To top it off the seating area is enough to accommodate all guests and crew with a fridge and sink installed to prepare drinks whenever the guests desire and perfect for evening cocktails, before being called down for dinner.At the front of Lir is the Fore deck, the most spacious and open part of the yacht. The area provides for luxurious sunbathing with the catamarans special sailing design coming into play assuring a steady journey where guests can simply lie back and relax in cushioned luxury. This area is also equipped for storage with three large hatch lockers and an extra storage space for halyards at the mast step.

This isn’t a Fly Bridge. It is the “piece de resistance” of Lir.Its new design allows an enormous amount of outer deck space for guests and like the saloon (but in open space) allows a 360 panoramic view all around the yacht, fully enhancing the sailing experience. For when you need to cruise without wind and sails, Lir has use of two 150hp diesel engines; high resistance steel direct transmission shafts, a V shaped shaft bracket, two three blade folding propellers and the engine comes with a mechanical extractor of air. All these components can be controlled and managed from the helm station inside the saloon and on the Fly Deck.In spite of the outstanding size of the Fly Deck the performance of Lir under sail has not been compromised at all. The powerful mainsail is aided by a choice of Genaker, Genoa or Staysail,

all on rolling furlers to provide maximum speed and efficiency under sail. The performance characteristics of Fountaine Pajot boats are extremely well known and never fail to please.Words can barely express the beauty of the Victoria 67 under sail and in charter use.

Sailing in the Balearics allows sailors to dip in and out of bays and harbours at their leisure, not just seeing more of one

island, but providing the opportunity to visit multiple islands on one holiday away from the beaten track. Based out of Palma, our itinerary can be tailored to sail around Mallorca itself, or visit Menorca and Ibiza for longer breaks.

tHE cariBBEanLir will be based in the Caribbean from December 2015 until early May 2016 taking in the BVI, USVI, Antigua, St Lucia and other destinations in the Leeward and Windward Islands.

The British Virgin Islands, being at the Northern extremity of our sailing area, have all of the essential elements for the ultimate sailing experience in one perfect place: easy deep-water island hops, consistent trade winds, line-of-sight navigation and plentiful sheltered anchorages, make this an excellent family-friendly location, perfect for sailing adventures. Grenada at the Southern end and limit of our sailing area, known as the spice island of the Caribbean, lies at the southernmost tip of the Windward Islands. Just a short hop from neighbouring Carriacou,

Petite Martinique and St Vincent, this untouched island offers a true taste of the Caribbean.

In between lie all the magical islands and sailing areas known around the world such as Tobago Cays, Mustique, St Lucia, Martinique, Guadaloupe, Antigua, Anguilla, St Kitts and Nevis, St Maartens and numerous unspoiled islets along the way.

In addition to the luxury on board Lir has a full range of water sports’ equipment to enhance the guests’ enjo-yment. To make use of the water “toys” Lir has available a 4m tender with a 40hp motor powerful enough to accommodate the water skis, wakeboard and doughnut in addition there are paddle boards, a kayak and we are fully SCUBA diving equipped (including an on board compressor and tanks) and the latest Diver Propulsion Vehicles (BladeFish SeaJet 7000) with the Captain being a qualified PADI Instructor, if you want to learn or improve your underwater skills when not snorkelling or swimming.
