High Tech meets High Quality.
The high flexibility is one benefit of the new concept.
The other is the furthe r improvement in qual ity.
Almost all compo nents come from MAN‘s proven
commercial-vehicle technology. To make for easy
fitting of bodies the modules are bolted together
The entire chass is is subject to ex tensive tests in
accordance with the latest MAN standard. That
guarantees extremely high reliability, high economy
and a long life.
Thorough strength tests: Lion‘s Chassi s complete enduranc e tests
corresponding to the stresses and strains of 1,000,000 kilometres
on the road

Lion‘s Chassis form the ideal basis for coaches,
city buses and intercity buses that combine pre-
mium quality with innovative engineering. The
electronic stability program ESP is a series feature
of the coach and intercity bus versions. This, along
with the EBS electronic brake system and a body-
friendly electronic structure are all standard fea-
tures of the Lion‘s Chassis.
The modular two- and t hree-axle c hassis give bo dy
manufacturers great freedom in designing individu-
al solutions. To achieve maximum flexibility, five
module groups are available:
Driver’s work-place module
The ergonomica lly desig ned driver’s wor k-place
offers body manufacturers flexible integration
options. Available in both left- and right-hand drive
models.
Front axle module
Highly convenient independent wheel suspension
for coach and intercity bus bodies. An optional
rigid axle is also available for two-axle coach and
intercity bus chassis. Low Entry chassis fitted as
standard with the proven rigid axle.
Wheelbase module
Short transfer wheelbase for lower transport
costs; final wheelbase can be individually speci-
fied by the body manufacturer.
Rear axle module
Low-noise hypoid drive axle with low weight, high
load capacity and long oil-change intervals.
Stabiliser fitted as standard for increased stability
and optimum safety, especially for high bodies.
Actively steer ed traili ng axle for three -axle coac h
chassis
Driveline module
The driveli ne can be perfe ctly configur ed with
efficient common-rail engines for low-entry,
intercity bus or coach chassis. The engines meet
exhaust emission standards Euro 3 to EEV.
Exhaust emission standard Euro 6 is available in
good time ahead of the statutory deadline.
Available ge arboxes incl ude manual, automated
