I had the pleasure of working for UCSF as a Sr. LVN, at UCSF Medical Center Lakeshore Family Practice utilizing the Electronic Health Record (APEX) for documentation within the scope of practice of a LVN, developing and maintaining a high standard of patient care, work cooperatively and participated with the health team, administered immunizations, inhalation therapy or other treatment per physician’s and comply with patient needs at all times and answered patient inquiries and teaching in an appropriate manner maintaining confidentiality. As a clinical LVN working 15+ years under the Kaiser TPMG umbrella in a labor and management partnership oriented environment. Utilization of the nursing process to assess and identify the individual needs of patients through observation of disease symptoms, emotional state, laboratory reports, cultural and socio economic background and response to medical regimen and treatment was required then reporting to treating physician to assist in treatment approach. The practice was a ‘one-on-one’ fast paced and high profile Orthopedic Surgery/Adult/Pediatrics department where multi-tasking was not an option it was a must. Based on my consistently outstanding interpersonal skills, job performance and unparalleled efficiency; I have often worked at Management capacity. Performing at this level, I would sometimes provide guidance to Registered Nurses, Residents, Physician Assistants, and other Surgeons amongst other medical staffers. Eventually, I was recruited by the facility Infection Control Manager to work in the “Infection Prevention & Control” department where I worked for 3.2 years as an “Infection Control and Prevention Coordinator-Trainee.” This diverse background has allotted me the opportunity to develop a signature method in contributing to my true original passion, “quality patient care and safety.” Before working at Kaiser, I also worked for a nurse registry as a “staff coordinator / Supervisor” as well as a nurse being contracted out for 2 years, nurse working out of the registry; Family Practice providing a variety of duties including vaccines and phlebotomy.

In regards to “Infection Prevention,” upon my superior’s and colleagues absence, I was often left overseeing 2 separate hospital campuses; both inpatient and outpatient.
