Linear vibrating screensThyssenKrupp linear vibrating screens are the optimum solution for diffi cult material due to theiradvanced, robust construction and wide variety of designs. Equipped with double unbalance drive units,ThyssenKrupp linear vibrating screens are available for coarse and fi ne screening and wet processing.

Over 12,000 mmThyssenKrupp linear vibrating screens are off ered in screen lengths of over 12,000 mm and widths over 5,500 mm.

  • 2ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutionsis one of the worlds leadingmanufacturers of machines andplants for the processingindustry.

Based on decades ofexperience, our engineers areengaged in research anddevelopment. The results havebecome an integral part ofprocessing technology.Customers worldwide benefitfrom our innovations.

Whether standard orcustomized designs ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions always provides comprehensive so-lutions tailored to customer needs reliably and cost-effectively.

    3

The latest generation of typeDU linear vibrating screens withdouble unbalance drive unitprovides screening areas withwidths and lengths rangingfrom 800 to 5,500 mmand 2,000 to 12,000 mm,respectively. The screens are able to handlethe increasing feed rates andmeet the versatile requirementsinherent to primary screening, sizing, dewatering, depulpingand deslurrying of bulk materialssuch as hard rock, limestone, gravel, coal, ore, oilsand and salt advancedscreening equipment fromThyssenKrupp.

Exactly adjusting machines tomeet the appropriaterequirements and assemblyconditions optimizes thescreening result.

The linear vibrations areproduced by double unbalancedrive units made byThyssenKrupp.

    Advantages:

    Constant infinitely variable stroke

Low overall height owing to the horizontal arrangement of assemblies

Optionally with bottom or top drive unit

Optimum adaptation to the particular screening job by changing the angle of throw

Quick change of the drive unit

Replacement service for the ThyssenKrupp double unbalance drive units

  • 4Through their advanced, robustand versatile design,ThyssenKrupp linear vibratingscreens offer optimal solutions tothe most difficult problems.

Depending on the application, the body of the screen and theprincipal assemblies such as sidewalls, supporting system andcross member are either screwedor HUCK bolted, the machinedesign allowing screen coveringsof different manufacturers to beused.Customers can choose betweentransversely tensioned perforatedplates, bolted thick perforatedplates, bar grates, transversely orlongitudinally tensioned wovenwire, rubber and plastic coverings.Plug-in systems for welded wedgewire screens and for rubber, plastic, perforated plate or wovenwire screen coverings areavailable.

    Design Characteristics

Design documents areexclusively prepared on CADsystems (Fig. 3).Assemblies are dimensioned onthe basis of a finite elementanalysis (Fig. 4) and on testbench vibration measurementstaken during the test run.

Sturdy helical springs and rubberbuffers are used to isolate thevibration. If needed, an additionalanti-vibration frame can be usedto decrease forces acting on thefoundation.

Grizzly-type screens for lumpymaterial are used as primaryscreens and feeding devicesupstream of crushers and millsas well as for coarse screeningoperations. Depending on theapplication, they are equippedwith a conveyor floor and ananti-vibration frame and can beprovided as single-deck anddouble-deck screens.

Size 0.5 - 4 double unbalancegearboxes are used as driveunits.Depending on the application, different designs of bar screensand perforated plates made ofdifferent materials are used asscreen coverings.

  • 6One of the most diverse tasksof mechanical processing ofbulk materials is the sizing bymeans of screens. The standardized system ofassemblies allows screenwidths of up to 3 ,200 mmand screen lengths of up to9 ,000 mm to be adopted insingle-deck and multiple-deckscreens for dry and wet sizingoperations.A special screen called thebanana screen is used for alow-bed of large feedquantities. Depending on thespecified application, differentdesigns of tensioned and flatscreen coverings made ofdifferent materials offer anoptimal solution for screeninggranular bulk materials.

If directly driven, the speed of the motor canoptionally be changed by afrequency converter. The useof an electric braking deviceallows resonance speeds to bequickly run through duringshutdown.
