Healthcare Facility

… is moving its medical prac�ce to Lafaye'e, CO.

They have purchased a one-level, 8,000 sf build-

ing that will be divided into 3 suites, one of

which they will build out and occupy. The other

2 suites will be rented to other businesses.

Their office provides fer�lity treatment

and counseling to individuals and couples. Two

physicians, along with nurses and an office staff

aim to create a professional, yet warm and com-

fortable environment for pa�ents to receive

their care. Services include exams, imaging,

counseling, laboratory, and related medical pro-

cedures.

The suite comprises of a recep�on room

where pa�ents will wait enjoying beverages, 2

exam rooms with an adjacent dressing room and

restroom, a nurses sta�on, 2 physicians offices, a

radiology room, business offices, conference

room, manager’s office, adequate supply closets,

a staff break room and restroom, and a janitors

closet.

A spa-like atmosphere is integral in the de-

sign and will be accomplished by using colors

and images of nature in the furniture and finish-

es, maximizing the use of day-ligh�ng, and cre-

a�ng a service area catering to the comfort of

the pa�ents.

• Window walls on all interior walls of exterior offices

I will create a dynamic office space rooted in sustainability

and universal design which supports Sunset Designs marke�ng

mission to these types of companies. The focus of the sustainable

piece will be on energy, water, materials and building prac�ces.

Universal design will be incorporated in part through adjustable

height desks and chairs and appropriate restrooms. The design

will also incorporate employee wellness features such as interac-

�ve work areas, and a break room with pa�o access. I will create

common areas for prin�ng, copying and recycling to encourage

employee movement while conserving energy and supplies with

shared resources. Although it is more typical for Execu�ve offices

to be larger, because there are so many common work areas and

they support an interac�ve work environment, their offices will be

smaller than average. In addi�on, one of the conference rooms will

provide a whole staff mee�ng space.

The clients are Ann and John Davis and their 2 dogs. They are very ac�ve in their Nebraska lake community and

entertain groups up to 20 oQen. Their proposed kitchen for their 1-bedroom cabin is insufficient to support their lifestyle

and they would like to redesign maximizing natural light and using materials that reflect their natural habitat. Ann wants a

gourmet kitchen with crea�ve ligh�ng. The designer has freedom to move the current pantry door, island, and windows if

needed. I plan to give them their entertainment friendly kitchen by using materials that enhance their natural environ-

ment and compliment their rela�onship with their lake community, such as stone, wood and water.

I began to work with Lindsey about three years ago, when I commissioned an art piece from her.

I loved the colors of the piece, so I hired Lindsey to decorate a room based around it. That room

turned out so well that I then hired her to decorate the rest of my house.

I was delighted with the work Lindsey did in decora�ng my two bedrooms. I really appreciated her design

skills and her ability to listen to how I wanted the rooms to feel. Her ability to choose just the right wall colors

made the rooms feel warm and cozy. Her new room arrangements provide very good traffic flow and make

my large furniture feel like it actually fits into these two smaller rooms.

Lindsey, thank you so much for bringing color to my life! As you know, I needed to paint the walls in my

“new” house, but was terrified to make a decision; worried that I would regret it and waste precious �me

and money. You listened to me. You took the �me to get to know me and my house, my favorite wall art

and accent pieces, and you guided me to an amazing color pale'e that makes me feel so good to be home.

Lindsey oversaw all of the work that was done, including pain�ng, removal of a decora�ve half-

wall, replacement of all the light fixtures, carpe�ng, ordering and delivery of furniture, and

moun�ng of all of the window treatments. Everything went smoothly under her direc�on, and

there were no problems with schedule or budget.
