Inclusion Sports Workshop at

Sport NSW

The workshop focused on partnerships, re-

sourcing, funding and being agile across

their various organisations to change focus

around program delivery to assisting the

main stream State Sporting Orgs to conduct

knowledge exchange days. At the Knowledge

exchange days staff of State Sporting Orgs

can learn how to work effectively with Devel-

opment Officers who deliver programs to

schools and in the community.

Follow up sessions are being planned and

Blind Sports NSW will be adapting their pro-

gram scope to now assist main stream sport.

This has already began in regional NSW. CEO

Murray Elbourn traveled to Wagga Wagga on

May 2nd and 3rd and assisted Netball, NRL,

AFL and Cricket at the NSW School Sport Unit

day with ISTV teacher Natalie and her totally

blind student who was supported by his

mum.

In the Wagga Wagga session, Murray worked

with the various sport development officers

in his capacity as Sport NSW Disability Inclu-

sion Manager. Murray also met with Wagga

Wagga Council, Ability Links and the Region-

al Office of Sport in Wagga to create more op-

portunities for inclusion in the region.

Blind Sports NSW are also assisting regions

in Northern Rivers, Central Coast, Hunter,

Dubbo and in the Sydney Metro Area. Con-

tact our Program Manager Kristy on Tue or

Wed for more info.
