Refund PoliciesSatisfaction GuaranteeThe Lincolnwood Parks and Recreation Department is committedto providing high quality recreation programs and services. Wewant everyone to be satisfied with their recreational experiences.If you are not completely satisfied with a program or service, youhave the following options:

1) Repeat the program at no charge2) Receive credit that can be applied to another program3) Receive a full refund of program classes not attended

Our guarantee is based on fulfilling our promise of deliveringthe published expectations describing the particular programyou registered for. If you are not satisfied, we kindly askthat you complete a refund request form (available atwww.recreation.lwd.org and in the Parks and RecreationDepartment office). This policy does not apply to Proesel ParkFamily Aquatic Center memberships.

General RefundsGeneral refunds will be granted when requested five full workingdays before the start of a program. All refunds are subject to a10% administrative fee and will bemailed in the form of a checkwithin 4-6 weeks of your request. Charges cannot be reversed oncredit cards.

Medical/RelocationWe do understand theremay be times when illness, emergenciesand relocation force you to discontinue participation in a program.Should this occur, we ask that you submit proof of relocation or awrittenmedical explanation from a physician.

Department CancellationIn the event a program does not reachminimum enrollment, theclass may be cancelled with full refunds issued. The administrativefee does not apply in these instances.

Rentals, Birthday Parties, Athletic & Picnic PermitsIf a rental is cancelled three weeks before the scheduled date,a full refund less a 10% administrative fee is issued. If a rental iscancelled 20 days or less before the scheduled date, a 50% refundless a 10% administrative fee will be issued.

Lincolnwood Social ClubRefunds will be granted when requested twoweeks before thestart of a program or date of a trip. All refunds are subject to a10% administrative fee. Youmay request a refund in the form ofa check (4-6 week processing time) or a credit to be used towarda future program. Requests due to illness, emergencies andrelocation will be handled as stated above in the General RefundPolicy. Refunds and/or credits will not be granted for requestsreceived after the twoweek deadline unless the vacancy canbe filled.

YOUTHTENNIS CLASS LEVELSPeeWee This special program focuses on the fun and fundamentals oftennis. Kidswill play tennis-related games to help teach the different tennisskills, including areas of the court, racquet control, ground strokes and volleys.Parents are encouraged to stay for the entire class.

Beginner Ideal for ages 7+ just taking up tennis. Instruction includeseye-hand coordination, racquet skills, stroke productionwith emphasis onground strokes, serve, return and volleys. Court position, scoring and singlesand doubles strategy are introduced.

Adult AdvancedBeginner You have had some lessons but need on-courtexperience.You have obvious strokeweaknesses, but are beginning to feelcomfortablewith singles and doubles play. Classes include strokedevelopment, footwork, court position, strategy andmatch play.

Adult Intermediate 1 You havemore dependable strokes, but can’t judgewhere the ball is going, haveweak court coverage and are still working tokeep the ball in playwith others of the same ability level. Classes includestroke development, footwork, court position, strategy, cooperativeconsistency drills andmatch play.

Adult Intermediate 2 You can place shotswithmoderate success and cansustain a rally of slowpace, but are not comfortablewith all strokes and lackconsistency in serving. Classes include advanced stroke development,footwork, court position, strategy, consistency drills, competitive play actiondrills andmatch play.

Adult Intermediate 3You still lack stroke dependability, depth and variety, but have improvedability to direct shots away fromopponent.You rarely double fault, but donot force errors on the serve.You hit forehand and backhand volleyswithconsistency if ball is within reach. Classes include advanced strokedevelopment, cooperative and competitive play action drills andmatch play.

Adult Intermediate 4 You havemore dependable strokes on both forehandability to use a variety of shots including lobs, overheads and volleys, canplace the first serve and force some errors.You are rarely out of place in adoubles game. Class emphasis is on approach shots, footwork, shot selectionand the transition game through play action drills and controlledmatch play.

Adult Advanced You can overcome some stroke deficiencies with eitheroutstanding shots or exceptional consistency.You can hit the first servewithpower and hit with placement the second serve.You can approach the net atopportune times to force an error with some success and can hit drop shots,half volleys and overhead smasheswith above-average success.

Swim America – Swim InstructionAges: 5-15A Cooperative ProgramOffered by theSkokie Park District and School District 219All children should know how to swim. The Swim Americaprogram is a progressive learn-to-swim program offered jointlythrough the Skokie Park District and School District 219. Sign upfor a timeslot, then each class of 30 children will be broken upinto small groups based on their skill level. Non-swimmers willstart at Level 1, and will progress through the program as theyachieve the goals for each level. At the completion of Level 10,swimmers will be prepared to join a swim team.

M-NASR serves children, teens and adults with physical,mental and emotional disabilities, their families and theircommunity recreation agencies by providing a wide rangeof recreation and leisure programs for people of every age,talent and interest. M-NASR conducts programs year round.Special services include summer camps, special events andholiday trips, after-school and day off from school programs.Participants enjoy dances, organized clubs, dinners at localrestaurants and the friendship and company of their peers,adding to the richness and joy of their lives in the process.M-NASR also offers inclusion services to those who needassistance to participate in programs offered by their parkdistricts and/or recreation department. M-NASR operatesseveral accessible vehicles and offers door-to-doortransportation for many activities.

The Lincolnwood Community Center is the perfect venue for your next party. The facility is ideal for meetings, family parties, birthdays,showers, and any other type of social gathering.

The Community Center features two indoor spaces. Choose from our large room, which provides a light, airy space that can accommodateup to 200 guests; or our small room, which provides a warm, intimate setting for up to 45. Both rooms feature hardwood floors perfect fordancing or socializing. For an additional fee, your guests will be able to enjoy our outdoor patio, complete with wrought iron patio tablesand umbrellas, which can seat 16 and accommodate up to 35 guests.

Lincolnwood Memorial Day Parade and FestivitiesMonday, May 25, 2015

Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.Formerly known as Decoration Day, it originated after the American CivilWar to commemorate the Union and Confederatesoldiers who died in the CivilWar. By the 20th century, Memorial Day had been extended to honor all Americans who havedied while in the military service.

Please help Lincolnwood and American Legion Post #1226 celebrate Memorial Day. The parade kicks off at the corner ofCicero and Pratt Avenues at approximately 10:20am, traveling east on Pratt Avenue, turning north on Keeler Avenue, endingin Proesel Park at Madeline’s Garden. The ceremony will take place in Madeline’s Garden at approximately 11am. All MemorialDay activities are free of charge.
